Play one of the biggest open world games of 2024 a week early – for free

DESPITE how explosive last year was for gaming, 2024 is already shaping up to be just as good.

One game was highly anticipated for so long that people started to think it didn't exist.

After the success of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, developer Ubisoft wanted to offer fans an open-world pirate adventure.

Then Skull & Bones was announced, but numerous delays kept fans from getting their hands on it yet.

However, a final release date has now been set February 18, 2024, and fans can sail the high seas even faster.

There will be an open beta test Thursday February 8, 2024, Through Sunday February 11, 2024.

Absolutely anyone can sign up to play, as long as they have a platform on which to play it.

It offers crossplay on both PC and consoles, meaning you can play with friends no matter what platform they're on.

The Skull and Bones open beta includes support for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows, Ubisoft Connect, and the Epic Games Store.

Those who participate in the beta can reach a Tier 6 Infamy Cap and earn exclusive cosmetics that will carry over to the full launch.

Ubisoft made the announcement alongside an outline of Skull and Bones' Roadmap for Year 1, suggesting the game will live on.

Skull and Bones has been in development since 2013, so this has been a long time coming for fans.

Fans are eager to know if the long development has negatively affected the game, and the open beta is their first chance to find out.
