My stepmother may put me on stage at my wedding; people say her dress is inappropriate

A BRIDE-TO-BE expressed her concerns online over whether her stepmother is trying to outdo her at the special event.

People came to her defense, saying her relative’s dress is “absolutely inappropriate” for the wedding.

Reddit user dulcinae37 expressed her frustrations on stage about her mother’s dress for her wedding.

She shared her concerns in the popular group, Approval of wedding attire.

In a Reddit postshe expressed concerns that her stepmother’s dress was “a little too white,” especially since she is the bride.

“I feel like she’s doing it on purpose to mislead everyone,” she added.

She asked for reassurance that she was not “overreacting” to the situation.

She also included a photo of the floor-length dress, which was covered from top to bottom in multi-colored 3D flowers.

The A-line champagne long dress with appliqués can be purchased online for $198.

The majority of Reddit users were on her side and deemed the choice inappropriate on her special day.

“Beautiful dress. Definitely inappropriate for someone who isn’t the main character,” one reader wrote.

“Just a little too flashy. It’s a beautiful dress,” another added.

“I think if it could be worn by the bride in a practical way as a wedding dress, then it wouldn’t be appropriate for anyone else to wear it. And I’d say this falls very clearly into that category,” said one Reddit user.

But not everyone thought she was right.

“Why? Too dainty? Several women wore dresses like this at my own wedding, and I barely noticed, so this whole post baffles me,” one woman added.

“People are just insecure,” another Reddit user commented.
