DANI Alves saw his football career crumble after he was found guilty of rape.

But events saw the shamed star win his fight to appeal his four-and-a-half year prison sentence from the comfort of his own home rather than a prison cell.

What was Dani Alves accused of?

Dani Alves was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a nightclub on New Year’s Eve in December 2022.

The victim claimed the former Barcelona defender raped her in a bathroom.

Alves was first arrested in January 2023 and immediately detained as he awaited trial.

Shortly after his arrest, Alves said in a Spanish TV interview: “I don’t know who this lady is.

“I don’t know her name, I don’t know her, I’ve never seen her in my life.”

However, in a June 2023 interview with Mayka Navarro, he asked his wife for forgiveness.

Alves said: “The only person I have to ask for forgiveness is my wife, Joana Sanz.

“I have already done that here in prison, but I have to do it publicly because the story is public, the offense I caused her is public and she deserves that public apology.”

Alves continued: “I went into the bathroom of the nightclub behind her.

‘I didn’t even lock the door. The door was open all the time. She could have left at any time because I spent pretty much all my time there sitting on the toilet seat.”

When was Alves found guilty?

In February 2024, Alves was found guilty of raping the woman on New Year’s Eve 2023.

Prosecutors were told by the victim that she danced with Alves and willingly entered the nightclub bathroom, but when she later wanted to, he would not let her leave.

She said he then beat her and forced her to have sexual relations against her will.

The court ordered him to pay £130,000 (150,000 euros) to the victim.

When was Dani Alves released?

Following his conviction, Alves was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

Prosecutors had sought a nine-year prison sentence for Alves, while lawyers representing his accuser wanted 12 years.

While his defense asked for his acquittal or, if found guilty, a one-year prison sentence plus £43,000 (50,000 euros) compensation for the victim.

However, a turn of events in March 2024 revealed that he would be released from prison after just four weeks after appealing.

A court in Barcelona ruled that Alves could be released after paying a bail of one million euros.

The decision can still be appealed.

Is Dani Alves retired?

After his conviction, Barcelona stripped Alves of his legend status.

At the time of his arrest, Alves was under contract with Mexican football club UNAM Pumas, which has since fired him.

However, he has not yet spoken about his future as a footballer.

During his time on the pitch, he won six La Liga titles, two Ligue 1 titles and Serie A.

Alves also won the UEFA Champions League three times while playing for Barcelona in 2009, 2011 and 2015.

How did the feud between Bobby Berk and Tan France start?

An exposé published by Rolling stone claimed in March 2024 that tensions between Berk and France had increased after France reportedly campaigned to replace the designer with his friend, Jeremiah Brent. A week prior to the article’s publication, Netflix announced that Brent would be taking over the role of Berk for the show’s upcoming ninth season.

France shut down speculation that he was directly behind Berk’s Queer Eye exit in a March 2024 Instagram video, claiming Berk had been fired from the show.

“The firing of my former colleague had nothing to do with my efforts to get my friend hired. Netflix and the production companies have done a full casting,” France told his followers. “I didn’t hire my friend for the job. They ended up getting it because they were the best person for the job. Am I so happy they got the job? Um, that’s really me. I think they’ll be great on the show. But I didn’t hire them by firing someone else.”

The allegations against Jonathan Van Ness

In the above Rolling stone exposé, several crew members compared Berk’s relationship with his costars to that of a “boy band.” And like most boy bands, they were doomed to break up.

“Essentially it was a group of people put together in their mid-30s who were said to be best friends. But people don’t expect that Strange eye could be,” a production member told the outlet. “That’s what it really is: a manufactured boy band with big personalities, some favored and some not, and ultimately [things] became really toxic.”

Some of the cast’s toxic behavior is said to have come from Van Ness, as many crew members accused them of having “anger issues” and behaving in emotionally “abusive” ways towards others on set.

“Jonathan is a crowd-pulling person who has the ability to be very warm and charismatic, and who has the ability to make you feel like they are really special because they pay attention to you,” claimed a production member who met with the star worked. ‘But at least once a day they had to shout at someone. It may be something small, but there will always be someone to blame you and make you the villain of the day.”

Another accused Van Ness of refusing to share the spotlight Strange eye costars and said, “There were times when we couldn’t even shoot scenes together with certain members of the Fab Five because it got so bad.”

Van Ness has not publicly addressed the allegations against them, and Us has requested comment.

Brown and Porowski have not publicly discussed the Berk-France feud or the allegations about Van Ness’ behavior. However, the two did show support for Berk after he announced his Strange eye Exit.

Mel B has revealed that the Spice Girls are supporting their bandmate Geri after her husband Christian Horner was accused of inappropriate behaviour.

Former racing driver Christian, 50, is currently under investigation over claims he sent ‘sexually suggestive’ text messages to a female employee of his Red Bull F1 team – allegations he has vehemently denied.

Geri, 51, is said to be ‘devastated’ by the scandal, with a source telling MailOnline that she had felt unable to get along with her bandmates – even going so far as to ban all Beckham’s on social media more followed.

She also dropped Red Bull star Max Verstappen, but later seemed to change her mind when she re-followed David, Victoria and Max some time later.

Now Mel B has insisted the girls have been in touch with Geri, and is leaning on Victoria for support, with Posh ‘supporting her in every way possible’.

Speak with The sun Scary Spice said on Saturday: ‘We have a WhatsApp group and we have been messaging.’

It was also revealed that Geri is ‘leaning on’ Victoria for support, as she previously helped the designer through her own marital problems.

A source said OK! Magazine: ‘They always got along well and were there for each other in the difficult times.

‘When Geri had a bit of a stormy relationship with some of the other Spice Girls, Victoria supported her and helped her through it. It’s the same now that Victoria wants to support Geri in any way she can.

‘Victoria and David have had some really low moments as a couple and Geri was there for her.’

It comes just days after Geri unfollowed her Spice Girls bandmate Victoria – and David and Brooklyn Beckham – as the fallout from the scandal turned toxic.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘There have been hundreds of arguments between Geri and Mel B over the years, not least when Mel mentioned that she and Geri had slept together a few years ago.

“But Geri has never had any problems with the Beckhams until now.”

They continued, “You get different stories from different people about what’s going on, but the bottom line is that she seems to be taking Christian’s problems very seriously.

“All the girls have contacted her, but she doesn’t feel like she can connect with them. She is devastated and it is possible she feels the Beckhams could have given her – and Christian – more public support.”

It signaled an extraordinary infighting, with F1 insiders saying the current allegations, involving alleged bullying and ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by a female colleague, appear to be part of a ‘power struggle’ within the team.

While Christian denies the claims, a Dutch newspaper, The Telegraph, claimed to have seen messages at the heart of the investigation, claiming they were ‘sexually oriented’.

When the news broke on February 6, all it said was that he had been accused of “incredibly controlling behavior” by a female colleague. He denied it completely and appeared relaxed at a media event when he said he had a ‘very supportive wife’ in former Spice Girl Geri, who stands by him.

Two weeks later, De Telegraaf reported that Horner had sent sex messages to the female employee ‘over an extended period’.

The source of the leak has caused a lot of commotion: Red Bull’s star driver, Max Verstappen, is Dutch, just like his influential father Jos.

It is perhaps a shame that Geri Verstappen ‘unfollowed’ on Instagram shortly after the De Telegraaf story appeared.

After the unfollowing became public, Geri quickly re-followed Verstappen, David and Victoria. It is not clear what the Beckhams did to be drawn into the scandal.

Geri’s publicist claimed — despite screenshots that appear to show the opposite — that it is “incorrect” to say Geri has unfollowed anyone.

A friend told the Mail: ‘Geri worked very hard to make that marriage happen – there’s no way she can let it go. She always said she was determined to find her prince, and she felt like she had done the same with Christian.”

She has built an idyllic country life with her husband and children on their Cotswolds estate.

But sources say Geri has been ‘flattened’ by the scandal – especially because the alleged recipient is a colleague she knew well – and by the nature of the messages.

A friend added this week: ‘Geri is devastated and has trouble eating and sleeping. Her family and fellow Spice Girls worry about her.

‘I hear Christian is trying to cheer her up to stay positive, but she’s hit the ground running like she did after she left the Spice Girls. She doesn’t talk to anyone.’

The source believes Geri may skip the trip to Bahrain for the Grand Prix because she cannot handle the criticism.

Christian declined to comment Thursday on the investigation into his own alleged “inappropriate behavior,” but said he hopes a resolution is reached as soon as possible.

Horner carried out his customary execution of his Red Bull team boss in Bahrain amid the investigation launched earlier this month.

At the press conference during F1 testing, Horner said he could not talk about the ongoing investigation because he was ‘part of it’, but said the ‘process was ongoing’.

Horner, who was reluctant to elaborate further, ended by saying he hoped a solution would be found as soon as possible.

The 50-year-old said: ‘There is a process underway and as I am part of it I cannot comment on it. We hope that a solution will be found as soon as possible.’

The allegations against Horner have overshadowed the run-up to the 2024 F1 season.

Horner emphatically denies the claims and his wife Geri, formerly Halliwell, supports him in his fight for his reputation.

Kim Kardashian was accused of having one of the most boring VIP Super Bowl boxes when in the in the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday.

But everyone was wrong.

Turns out her $1M box was a hot zone for love as her new boyfriend was tucked away in the back minding his own business as Kim chit-chatted with her sister Khloe Kardashian and pal Lala Anthony.

Upon closer inspection of one of the many images taken on game day when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers, it has been discovered that Odell was hiding out in the box filled with A-listers.

The football player could be seen in the back row of the large box as he looked down at his cell phone.

He is not looking at the camera so it is hard to tell it was him, but it indeed was.

In front of him were Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, as well as  Justin Bieber and his supermodel wife Hailey Bieber, Denver Bronco’s quarterback Russell Wilson and his singer wife Ciara, Anthony and model Winnie Harlow.

The SKKN owner was also seen in the company of Odell in Las Vegas on Saturday, as seen in photos obtained by DailyMail.com.  They were spied at a resort. 

The reality TV star, 43, and the football player, 31, have been happily dating for five months, but are being careful to stay under the radar so as not to invite judgment, UsWeekly reported last week.

‘Odell’s personality is much more private than Kardashian’s,’ a source told the site.

There are a lot of factors to weigh in: Kim is much older at 43, is a busy reality TV star and SKIMS mogul and mom of four, and has already been to several football games in the past (she used to date Reggie Bush, after all).

Even for my kids, all of them, it's brought us all closer together,” Randi shared during the Friday, February 9 episode of the “Got from my mother” podcast. “We may have moments, we are still a normal family, but it brought us together to support and love and stay away from a lot of media and hate.”

Randi went on to say that the Mahomes family has “put this year behind us,” referring to the Jackson incident. “We were blessed that it was all dropped because the situation was for the wrong reasons,” she added.

Jackson, 23, was investigated for assaulting a restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn claimed he “forcibly kissed” her at the Kansas establishment in February 2023. She further alleged that Jackson became aggressive toward several staff members at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge, claiming that he made three advances toward her without consent.

Jackson's attorney denied the allegations in March 2023, claiming there was “substantial evidence refuting Jackson's accuser's claims, including the statements of several witnesses.”

Two months later, Jackson was arrested on four charges related to Vaughn's allegations, with his bail set at $100,000. In January, his three charges of aggravated sex crimes were dropped. The court cited a lack of cooperation from Vaughn, who had refused to testify, according to the court Associated press.

Jackson still faces a battery charge, to which he has pleaded not guilty. His attorney said in a statement to FOX 4 KC last month that Jackson “did nothing wrong.” “We were confident that the truth about the case would eventually come to light.” (Prosecutors noted that they plan to move forward with the case.)

Despite her son's legal troubles, Randi shared during Friday's podcast episode that she likes to “brag” about Jackson, who has been working at a credit union for a year, along with his side job as a social media influencer.

In his latest online rant, Russell Brand told Tucker Carlson that he believes Holocaust denier David Icke was “leading the way” with his views on globalization, while also denying the numerous rape allegations made against him.

Brand, 48, appeared on Carlson's September, In Plain Sight.

During the broadcast, Brand refers several times to the accusations he faces, at one point saying he is “embroiled in” a “deliberate pervasive effort to suppress any dissent in an astonishingly aggressive manner.” .

The former Big Brother's Big Mouth host said the attacks were 'a painful, hurtful attack'.

He also says that at the time of the documentary, the British government had contacted social media platforms and asked for his removal.

“Of course I deny all allegations… that have been raised,” he later adds, and “I reject the allegations in the strongest possible terms.”

Brand said that when the documentary aired, his son was undergoing heart surgery at just 12 weeks old.

During another part of the broadcast, Brand's attention turned to David Icke.

“It scares me to think, Tucker, that people like Alex Jones and in our country, David Icke… seem to be leading the way,” Brand said. Adding that it was “extraordinary” how long the pair had been talking about “globalization.”

Accusations of Holocaust denial have been leveled at Icke since his 1995 book And the Truth Shall Set You Free. In the book, Icke claimed that prominent Jewish families “helped finance Adolf Hitler.”

He also wrote that schools are “indoctrinating children into the undisputed version of events with the mainstream narrative of the Holocaust thanks to their use of free copies of the film Schindler's List.”

The relationship between Brand and Icke goes back almost twenty years. In 2008, Icke made two guest appearances on the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star's infamous BBC Radio 2.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, Jones, who is best known for his denials regarding the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting that killed 20 children, is not openly anti-Semitic but “has had anti-Semitic guests on his show.”

One of those guests, Kanye West, admitted that he “liked Hitler” in a December 2022 interview on the show. Icke himself was a guest on Jones' InfoWars show several times.

This week the liberal watchdog Media Matters a study published about Brand's development from a left-wing darling to someone who 'critically platforms right-wing figures and unfounded conspiracy theories'.

Less than a decade ago, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld called Brand “left-wing commie scum.” Over the past year and a half, Gutfeld has regularly spoken highly of Brand proverb that the actor chose 'truth' over 'stardom' when he left his film career behind.

Media Matters calls Brand's shift the 'grift drift'.

Brand said in the appearance that he believes “authoritarianism” is weaponized with words like “care, concern, security and convenience,” but that the ultimate goal is for individuals to lose their freedoms.

“It seems to me that we are in a time when we are lurching from one crisis to another. The crisis is always used to legitimize certain solutions and a docile or terrified public is willing to participate in these proposed solutions, which usually involve giving up their freedom,” he continued.

“We are constantly invited to give up our freedom in exchange for safety or convenience, and it appears this process is escalating radically. And I think this is something we'll see more of in the coming year.”

Brand has been questioned by detectives from London's Metropolitan Police about allegations of historical sexual offences.

British police said in September they had launched an investigation into a number of allegations of non-recent sex crimes, following media reports that women had accused Brand of a series of sex crimes.

Brand has rejected what he has described as “very serious allegations”, saying on his social media channels that he has never had non-consensual sex.

There was no immediate response to a request for comment on Sunday's report from Brand representatives.

“A man in his 40s attended a police station in south London on Thursday 16 November 2023,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement, but declined to confirm whether it was Brand.

'He was interrogated provisionally by detectives in connection with three non-recent sexual offences. Investigations continue,” police added.
