SHE is ITV’s new leading lady, but Cat Deeley’s outfits are far less chic than those of This Morning predecessor Holly Willoughby.

We haven’t seen a puff-sleeved blouse or a patterned midi dress yet – and it looks like she’s much more comfortable in jeans, a T-shirt or even a cardigan.

Too ordinary? We don’t think so.

Cat certainly has class and her outfits are attractive and accessible for real women who want to dress up for a pub lunch, a dinner party or a day of shopping.

Fans are already flocking to X to praise her down-to-earth outfits, with one user saying: “Isn’t Cat Deeley just gorgeous! I love her sense of style!”

And it’s her sense of style. Insiders have told us the 47-year-old chooses her appearance.

It is only a matter of time before the “Holly Effect” is replaced by the “Cat Effect”.

Some of her items, like a multi-colored cardigan she wore this week, have already sold out as viewers rush to buy them.

Cat’s eclectic style crosses continents, with key pieces from River Island in the UK and Madewell in the US.

But it is the French brand Sezane that she loves most.

The presenter has rounded up a range of items from the top high street brand, loved by celebrities including Princess Kate and Sienna Miller.

Sezane products are baptized with chic French first names and last Thursday Cat wore the Nele shirt.

The rust-colored number features fringe and detailing and retails for £105.

Yes, it’s pricey, but Cat paired it with £48 River Island ‘tummy-hold flared jeans’ made from comfortable stretch fabric.

In the same week, she paired the blue Sezane Maxence shirt with the brand’s black Rome shorts – which have a combined price tag of £230 – and black tights.

And on Tuesday, Cat went for an effortless Parisian look, wearing Sezane’s La Chamade T-shirt, with a heart print on the front, and leather-look trousers.

Of course, some viewers have criticized her online, saying that she should hire Gok Wan as a stylist or that she is too old or too thin for shorts or dresses.

It is the French brand Sezane that she loves most

On the contrary, we are definitely sold!

And while Sezane and some of Cat’s other favorites, like Hush and & Other Stories, may be a bit overpriced, a quick search on Vinted will turn up a lot of good quality second-hand versions for half the price or less.

Failing that, we’ve scoured our high street favorites to show you how to steal Cat’s style. . .

Cats have an excellent reputation for remaining calm, acting nonchalant and famously having nine lives – but they are not always as elegant as they would have us believe.

Captured at the right moment, our funny cats can look bewildered and a little undignified.

Bored Panda have put together a collection of bizarre snaps from around the world, submitted by cat owners, that will leave you in stitches.

One kitten, believed to be from Canada, is stuck in a vending machine while looking mischievously at the camera.

Another Scottish Fold cat, believed to be from Korea, looked uncomfortable as he decided to sit on several bottles of water.

Sophia (@ssooophia) shared the cleaning tips in a TikTok video.

“Probably my favorite compliment is when people walk into my apartment and say, ‘Oh my god, it smells so good in here!’ she said.

“As a cat mom, I always worry about the smell of the litter box, so I’m going to share three things I do to keep my apartment smelling good.”

In addition to scooping her litter box every day so odors don’t marinate, she used an odor eliminator that removed any remaining odors.

She revealed that she attacked the smell with the $12 Rocco & Roxie Cat Litter Box Odor Remover that she added directly to the litter box.

“You just sprinkle a little bit of this in the litter box after you clean it and mix it. It works so well,” she said.

As a seasoned pet owner, she added that Rocco & Roxie’s odor eliminator smoked the competition out of the water.

“I’ve tried so many of these types of scented beads and these are by far the best,” she said.

Removing dog odor from your home is cheaper than you think – my 2-ingredient spray can be used for everything

“It has a minty fresh scent.”

Her second trick was $20 diffuser oil, which allowed warm scents to flow through her home.

“My favorite diffuser oils are from Joocier. I love the Leatherhead and also the Cherub,” she said.

“They are both lovely scents, but what I like most is how long they last and how they spread throughout the apartment.”

When she doesn’t have her diffuser on, she opts for reed diffusers.

“My favorites are from Nest. I really love it because every time someone comes over and they sit near someone, they say how good it smells,” she said.

“I also like that I can just put them down and not have to worry about them.”

A series of incredible images captured by a wildlife photographer show big cats and their cubs playing, fighting and cuddling.

Nick Dale, 55, has captured leopards, lionesses, pumas and cheetahs and their babies in countries across Africa such as Kenya, Tanzania and Botswana.

The footage shows the animals surrounding and climbing on their mothers, and in some shots they appear to be hugging their mothers.

Nick, who started photographing wild cats in 2013, said: ‘Lions sleep 20 to 22 hours a day, so it’s always a good opportunity for action shots! The cubs can also be very cute, and cute can be bought.

‘I have been taking pictures of lions and other cats since my first trip to Africa in 2013 and I will continue as long as I can.

‘There is often action in different places and sometimes you need the help of other guests to let you know when something fun is happening!

‘I’ve taken hundreds, possibly even thousands of photos like this over the years, but you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get, so there’s a lot of luck involved.’

The Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Center currently houses 39 leopards, almost 60% of which are under geriatric care.

(L) Jaya was rescued as a cub in 2008 and is now almost 16 years old. (C) Shankar, a male leopard rescued in 2008, walks through his enclosure. (R) The case of Ganesh and Vitthal, who suffer from physical disabilities, is a rare instance of two male leopards spending companionship with each other.

Leopard Rescue Center: Maharashtra’s first leopard sanctuary, located in Junnar, Pune district, is a sanctuary for many older leopards who spend their lives in rescued care. The Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre, jointly managed by Maharashtra Forest Department and Wildlife SOS, currently houses 39 leopards, of which nearly 60% are under geriatric care.

Most of the animals living at the sanctuary had been the target of human-leopard conflict, attempted poaching by human traffickers, or had been orphaned in the wild. Rescued from an uncertain fate, the leopards under the care of Wildlife SOS and Junnar Forest Division have turned their lives around. They have spent most of their lives in an almost natural environment, supplemented with veterinary care, medical treatment and healthy food.

Ganesh and Vitthal, two male leopards who live together, are not only old but also have several disabilities. While Ganesh is completely blind, Vitthal is missing a hind leg. Caring for elderly leopards with disabilities is therefore more challenging, but the care staff at the sanctuary are always up to the task. While the caretakers prepare olfactory and food enrichments for the blind Ganesh, structural enrichments such as platforms are built at lower levels, taking into account Vitthal’s physical deficiencies.

A leopard enters the final stages of its life from the age of 12, although this age group varies from species to species. For the leopards, this is the stage where they encounter more dental problems, joint problems and a marked change in their overall behavior and personality. Even for the leopards that have grown old under the care of Wildlife SOS and Junnar Forest Division, the change is absolutely evident.

Dr. Chandan Sawane, veterinary officer at Wildlife SOS said: “Leopards suffer from dental problems such as broken teeth, plaque build-up and tartar and root problems. These problems hinder their ability to chew food properly. Unable to eat, they suffer from severe loss of appetite, which compromises their immunity. We perform regular dental checkups to clear out the tar and check for half-broken teeth or blunt canines that could be a problem.”

Kartick Satyanarayan, Co-Founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS said, “Currently, there are more than 35 leopards residing at the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre, of which almost 60% are geriatric. That is why our team is meticulous about medical care, diet and health checks to ensure the well-being of the older leopards.”

Amit Bhise, assistant conservator of forests at Junnar, said, “The leopard sanctuary has been in existence at Junnar since 2007 and acts as a sanctuary for animals that cannot return to the wild. The number of rescued leopards currently under geriatric care demonstrates the efforts of the forest department and Wildlife SOS to provide them with a long and healthy life.”

What is the meaning of a cat’s meow that gets louder and louder? Or your pet’s sudden change from purring softly while you stroke its back to biting your hand?

It turns out that these misunderstood moments with your cat happen more often than not. A new study from French researchers, published last month in the journal Applied Animal Behavior Science, found that people were significantly worse at reading the signals of an unhappy cat (nearly a third got it wrong) than those of a happy cat (closer to 10 percent ).

The study also suggested that a cat’s meows and other sounds are wildly misinterpreted and that people should consider both vocal and visual cues to try to determine what is going on with their pets.

The researchers extracted these findings from the responses of 630 online participants; Respondents were volunteers recruited through social media advertisements. They all watched 24 videos of different cat behavior. A third depicted only vocal communication, another third only visual signals, and the rest involved both.

“Some studies have focused on how people understand cat vocalizations,” said Charlotte de Mouzon, lead author of the study and an expert on cat behavior at Université Paris Nanterre. “Other studies studied how humans understand cats’ visual cues. But studying both has never been explored before in human-cat communication.”

Cats display a wide range of visual signals: tails waving back and forth or high in the air; rubbing and curling around our legs; crouched; flat ears or wide open eyes.

Their songs can range from seductive to threatening: meowing, purring, growling, hissing and babbling. At last count, kittens were known to use nine different forms of vocalization, while adult cats uttered sixteen.

It may seem obvious that we can better understand what a cat wants by using visual and vocal cues. But we know much less than we think.

“We often take for granted our ability to understand the people and animals we are close to and live with,” said Monique Udell, director of the Human-Animal Interaction Laboratory at Oregon State University, who was not involved used to be. in this research. “It is worth doing this research because it shows us that we are not always accurate. It also helps us understand where our blind spots are, and that we really benefit from having multiple sources of information.”

And the fact that we’re not very good at noticing signs of dissatisfaction in animals should come as no surprise, Dr. Udell. “We are more likely to perceive that our animals are experiencing positive emotions because we want them to,” she says. “When we see the animals we feel good, and our positive emotional state in response to the animals gives us rose-colored glasses.”

Even some of the most common clues can be misunderstood.

For example, purring is not always a sign of comfort. “Spidering can be exhibited in uncomfortable or stressful conditions,” said Dr. the Mouzon. “When a cat is stressed or even in pain, it sometimes purrs.”

Such cases are a form of “self-soothing,” says Kristyn Vitale, an assistant professor of animal health and behavior at Unity Environmental University in Maine, who was not involved in the new research.

The same lack of understanding applies to visual cues in dogs.

“People tend to view the wagging of the tail as something very positive,” said Dr. Udell. “There are actually so many different, subtle signals that can be given with the tail. Does the tail wag more to the left or right? How fast does the tail wag? Is it above the centerline or below? All those wags mean completely different things. Some of them are happy. Some are warning signs before aggression. Just in the wagging of the tail you can see the entire spectrum.”

These studies could help improve not only owners’ personal relationships with their pets, but also animal welfare, the researchers say.

As an example, Dr. de Mouzon on a cat’s habit of suddenly biting. “Over time, if cats communicate and people don’t understand, the cat will just bite,” she said, “because they have learned over time that this is the only way to make something stop.”

Animal shelters use such findings to educate potential owners. Dr. Udell and Dr. Vital research into whether cats can be suitable as a therapy animal, or as an aid for children with developmental differences.

Dr. Udell said such interventions are “becoming increasingly important as we look at mental health, as we look at children who have difficulty connecting with people, as we look at what is now considered the loneliness epidemic.”

She continued: “These are all places where animal companionship can really make a big difference.”

And the benefits for improving relationships between pets and their owners can be enormous, said Dr. Udell.

“You can’t trust animals to be these effective companions if you don’t take their well-being into account,” she said. “And animal welfare, human welfare and the interactions between the two are closely linked. If you improve the lives of animals, you are likely to improve outcomes for people as well.”

Between the freshly mown grass, the blooming flowers and the ripe turnips in the vegetable garden, this family is ready for a healthy harvest.

But can you spot the curious cats lurking in the greenery?

The vegetable garden is clearly visible, but you have an above-average IQ if you can spot all three cats in less than 6 seconds.

The clock is ticking and your time starts now.

People who regularly do brain teasers improve their cognitive function and attention.

It's important to keep training your brain, and optical illusions are a great way to do this.

Have you given up hope yet?

We'll give you a hint: some cats are the same color as the item they're resting on.

Still can't find them? The answer key is below.

One of the cats is slumped in the wheelbarrow full of pumpkins.

Another cat rests on a gray padded lawn chair with a canopy on top, pulls up its bag and relaxes in the shade.

The last cat stares out from behind a clump of daisies, the whites of his eyes camouflaged behind the petals of the blooming flowers.

But why stop there? We have so many more optical illusions for you.

Everyone can see the G's in this game, but your vision is 20/20 if you can spot the odd letter.

We'll give you a hint: you're looking for the letter C.

You might have the eyes of a hawk if you can spot the rabbit hidden among the herd of cats.

The cats wear hats and scarves and pose for the camera.

But the rabbit stands out because of its long, straight ears.

Although cats are loyal and loving companions, not everyone wants a cat prowling around the yard.

The popular pets are known to mark their territory by urinating, which can damage plants that avid gardeners may have put a lot of effort into.

Luckily, for anyone wanting to keep cats away, a gardening expert has shared a 'cat repellent' plant that will help keep them out of your garden.

Speaking in a YouTube video for I like the gardenAccording to British gardening expert Suzanne Hall, there is a certain herb that forces cats to 'run a mile'.

This plant – coleus canina – is an herb variety from the mint family Lamiaceae and is also called the 'terrifying cat plant' because of its ability to deter cats and dogs.

This is because it contains leaves and flowers that are sticky to the touch and have an odor, similar to Eucalyptus, which cats and dogs do not like.

If this doesn't work, Ms Hall also shared some other natural hacks that can be useful in keeping cats out of your garden.

She said adding ground black pepper to hot water in a spray bottle, shaking it and spraying it near plants is effective because cats dislike the strong odor and the substance is safe to use on flora .

The expert said lavender also works, thanks to its equally powerful scent.

It comes after a grumpy neighbor's letter complaining about cats roaming and defecating on their property won the support of locals.

The note was shared on the Facebook community page of Moreton Bay, north of Brisbane, earlier this week after a resident received it in their letterbox.

'Dear neighbour. If you have a cat that likes to roam, please keep it indoors,” the note read.

'We recently had two cats on our property (1 black, 1 grey), and they poop where our children play.

'Today there was poop on our stairs. If this continues, we will get a trap from the municipality and take the cat(s) to the shelter. Thank you.'

The letter received support from local residents. One of them wrote: 'The letter is respectful, and the cat owner should be too.'

A second added: 'I think this letter is polite and non-offensive and if I were them I would be more than frustrated having to clean up after someone else's pet.

A fiery debate has erupted on Good Morning Britain today over whether domestic cats should wear bells to stop them killing birds.

Seasoned presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls seemed puzzled by the arguments of 'bird lover' Sally Jones and British journalist Flora Gill – who shouted that she would 'slaughter a thousand birds if it would keep my cat happy!'.

The chaos intensified when Sally admitted using 'air guns' to 'shoot' and kill mice from her daughter's bedroom window, making cats redundant.

Ed revealed that a recent study found that cats kill around 75 million birds and small animals every year. To combat this, places like Amsterdam could soon pass a law making it mandatory for cats to wear bells.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain today, British journalist Flora Gill (pictured) exclaimed that she would 'slaughter a thousand birds if it kept my cat happy!'

A poll was opened for viewers who voted for birds and said cats should be forced to wear bells.

Flora kicked off the debate, saying, “I mean, I can't force my cat to wear a bell. The cats don't do anything they don't want to do, including wearing a bell.

'It seems like a lot of fun, but I don't think it's feasible. I don't want to keep my cat indoors because he won't wear a bell.'

When Susanna asked if her cat, Panda, regularly kills birds, the reporter admitted that it has happened “maybe once.”

Dismayed by this, Sally quickly said, “Ring a bell on Panda. I've heard people say that cats only kill birds and mice and oh “you know it's fine if the cat is near your bird, it only kills rats and mice”.

'And then you know that five minutes later you have a cat sitting there with a beautiful bullfinch in its mouth. I would go crazy.

'I love birds. I love cats very much, I have nothing against them. If a cat puts a collar around its neck, if it doesn't like it, it can't take it off.'

The back and forth turned up a notch when Flora responded that Sally's words weren't true.

“My cat takes it off all the time,” she added, noting that many cat collars are designed to pop open to avoid getting tangled in branches.

Susanna came up with the idea that cats are useful because they get rid of rats and mice, but Sally had other ideas.

'There are plenty of other ways to kill rats and mice. I actually shoot from my daughter's bedroom window. Rats out the window.

Her words left the entire panel stunned, especially Susanna, who seemed speechless.

“Thank God,” Ed said. While Susanna asked, “Do you have a permit for that?”

The poll was taken to X, where 59 percent of users agreed that cats should be forced to wear bells, while 41 percent disagreed

Flora then added that she no longer has a rodent problem thanks to her crafty cat, who she jokingly said was outside “killing birds.”

“I have to say I would kill a thousand birds if it made my cat happy,” she concluded.

Both guests went back and forth in anger, causing Susana to intervene.

“I didn't really expect this testimony to be so controversial on both sides,” she admitted.

She then closed the segment by taking the survey to viewers, where 59 percent agreed that cats should be forced to wear bells, while 41 percent disagreed.

Take to Xformerly known as Twitter, one person said: 'The woman who says she would kill a thousand birds to make her cat happy is an absolute psychopath. How disgusting'.

Another asked: 'She shoots rats from the bedroom window?! Is that legal?'

Meanwhile, one person had no problem with it, adding: “My cats always wore bells.”
