A 43-year-old make-up artist has told how to give yourself a “facelift” using contouring – and the trick is where you place it.

Beauty influencer Lauren Hale urged women to ditch “fish face” when applying their bronzer and contour products in favor of her “game changing” hack.

The mother of three called it a makeup tip “to combat the signs of gravity as we age.”

Over time, our skin loses its elasticity due to a decrease in collagen and elastin production.

Collagen provides structural support to the skin, while elastin ensures that it springs back into place after stretching.

As these proteins decrease over the years, the skin becomes less firm and more prone to sagging.

But you can hide signs of sagging with clever makeup techniques, like these Lauren shared on her Instagram profile.

She lines a brush from the edge of her ear to her mouth and dabs three dots of cream contour on top.

Once blended, the shadow created by the products lifts the face.

“Try this method to create the illusion of lifting your cheekbones with your contour placement,” Lauren wrote in the caption.

Gravity constantly exerts a downward force on our bodies, causing tissues to gradually sag over time.

This effect is stronger as the skin loses elasticity and becomes less able to resist gravity.

In addition, genetic factors also play a role in the aging of our skin.

Some individuals may be more prone to developing sagging skin earlier or more severely than others based on their genetic makeup.

Lauren previously shared her hack for removing “raccoon eyes.”

Raccoon eyes refers to mascara that runs under the eye and creates a dark shadow, leaving you with black rings around your eyes, just like the garbage-loving mammals.

Elizabeth Marley, a professional makeup artist, said the eyebrow pencils are seriously “underrated” while the powder blushers are “really affordable.”

The beauty professional took to TikTok to show off her favorite Primark purchases, leaving many open-mouthed.

She said: “These are the best Primark beauty picks, approved by a make-up artist.

“The cream bronzer [Bronze Whip, £4.50] is so Niceit’s just a shame that it’s only available in one color.

“If you can find your shade in this foundation [Moisturising Foundation and Contour stick, £3]I really appreciate it.

“Primark eyebrow products [Brow Pencil, £3] are so underrated and so affordable.

“I also really appreciate some of their tools, including these concealer sponges [Concealer Blender Sponges, pack of two, £1.50]and also some of their newer facial brushes [highlighter brush, £4].”

Not only this, but Elizabeth also swore by the chain’s cheap lip liners and lip oils, continuing: “I’ve always been a fan of Primark’s lip products, especially their lip liners [£1].

“And also this Vitamin Lip Oil [£2.50] is very pleasant.”

The Primark shopper also shared her opinion about the blushers and hair clips.

She added: “These Charlotte Tilbury inspired blushes [Pro Matte Cream Blush, £4.50] are beautiful. They also do a contour stick, which is beautiful.

“They have some very affordable powder blushers [High Pigment Blusher, £1.50] which I actually review and use in my kit.

A PROFESSIONAL make-up artist has given details on how to make lip and eye pencils last longer.

Its free tip prevents the dreaded chipping of potentially delicate liners.

Karla Cruz (@karlacruz) from Vancouver filmed herself demonstrating the hack in a Reel on Instagram.

She described the method as “the best way to get the sharpest edge.”

The Reel was a clip of several makeup pencils sitting in a freezer.

“Freeze your pencils before sharpening them,” she advised.

Cruz isn’t the only makeup artist who swears by the hack, there’s science to back up why it can be an integral part of any beauty junkie’s routine.

According to GlamorousMakeup pencils that are less than three years old should still be somewhat wearable if stored properly.

However, some cosmetic fans may find their liners crumbling prematurely.

“If your liner is relatively new or you think there is still some life in the kohl, place it in the freezer for 15 minutes,” the article reads.

The first one she called out was Kat Von D’s liquid eyeliner. She said it has really good reviews for a reason, but it costs $23.

Instead, she said breakup-proof eyeliner Wet and wild is just as good and costs $5.47.

She said that in her opinion it is “essentially the same.”

Charlotte Tilbury’s highlighter is one of Simonet’s favorites.

She said it’s always sold out and at $42 it’s expensive.

Aldi’s latest range of make-up beauty buys will be available in stores nationwide from September 17 March, while supplies last.

What is Fenty Beauty?

Singer Rihanna created the makeup brand “so women everywhere would be included.”

Fenty Beauty, which is currently worth £2.1 billion, targets a wide range of traditionally ‘hard-to-match’ skin tones and develops formulas that work for all skin types.

The brand was launched in 2017 and is a 50-50 joint venture with LVMH, which is run by Bernard Arnault, the second richest person in the world.

The products are available in Sephora and Boots stores.

Edy London worked as an eyelash extension expert, but had to temporarily close her doors during the first lockdown at the beginning of this year.

To occupy her time, Edy designed makeup brushes because she was frustrated by the lack of good options on the market.

“Now that I’ve started my career as a make-up artist – I’ve worked with brands like Maybelline and at events like London Fashion Week, and a number of A-list models and actors and actresses – I understand eye shapes and bone structure,” she explained.

TikToker Angela DeNuccio (@angela_inthemoment) said you “can’t beat” the money-saving steal of $1.25 at Dollar Tree.

She said she had “nothing to lose” by trying the budget-friendly options.

“Are these dollar store makeup friends better than some of the high-end products we’ve been buying?” she asked.

Angela held three LA Colors sticks.

The first ones she tried were the LA Colors contour stick.

“It’s $1.25, guys, so even though it’s terrible, it’s $1.25,” she said.

Angela liked that it worked like a crayon so you could draw on your face.

The TikToker was impressed with the outcome.

“I didn’t expect to like that, and I didn’t expect it to go together so well,” she said.

“No kidding, I own about four or five different contours and this one might be my favorite and it cost $1.25,” Angela continued.

Next, Angela tried a three-in-one lipstick, blush and eyeshadow in pink satin.

She wasn’t a fan of the cane.

“Nothing comes of it, am I going crazy here?” she asked.

Angela realized that the stick was “a failure.”

The TikToker said there was a “faint pink color” when she rubbed it on her hand, but when she tried to get it on her cheek, it took her foundation off.

The last thing she tried was the LA Color highlighter stick.

Angela didn’t love it for her cheeks, but she loved it because it accentuated her eyebrows.

“It made my eyebrows stand out,” she said, adding that it was also perfect for the nose.

She was impressed with the makeup collection, but even more overwhelmed by the affordable price tag, with everything under $10.

Alexis (@itsalexissimone), a former Girl Scout, shared the beauty review in a TikTok video.

She showed off the latest Hard Candy Girl Scout collection.

Starting with them $10 Girl Scout Refresh Mint Canvas Primershe applied the green product directly to her skin with the scale-tip applicator.

Once the primer was mixed, it blended into a sheer sheen on her bare face.

“It feels really good on the skin. I don’t know how this will look on everyone’s skin tone, it almost looks a bit yellow,” she said.

After applying the primer, she went off-camera to finish off her base makeup with a Hard Candy $7 powder puff to clean hair contour.

For eyeshadow, she revealed the three from the collection $10 eyeshadow palettes based on cookie flavors, each with glitter shades and two matte shadows.

“This is the Girl Scout Buttery Bestie Shadow Palette. This is inspired by the cloverleaf cookie. Look at the glitter, that blue,” she said.

The nude-themed Caramel Queen palette is inspired by Samoan cookies and the green Mint Explorer Shadow palette is of course inspired by Thin Mints.

Alexis chose to dip into all three palettes for her eye look, reaching for nude shades on her fluffy brush.

For a pop of color, she picked a sparkling green shade from the Thin Mint palette.

“Oh my god, that looks beautiful. I never look with green eyes, but that is beautiful,” she said.

After completing her eye look, she gave her final verdict.

“I wish there were more matte shades and I will say that the chunky glitters like that green are a little hard to blend,” she said.

“But I’m not mad and I think the last eye look is really cute.”

For eyelashes she picked up the Girl Scout Cookie Butter Delicious volumizing mascara in the shade Dark Chocolate.

“I really like the wand. It lengthens and curls the lashes,” she said.

“The brown on the lower lashes is a ten out of ten.”

For lips she grabbed the $7 Girl Scout Cookie Glaze Lip Marker in the shade Thin Mint.

“There’s a light mint chocolate scent. That’s so creamy,” she said as she applied the lip liner.

“Because of how creamy it is, you have to be very careful. I love the color, it looks so pretty on the lips.”

To complete her liner, she showed off two Repair oils for $8 in Trefoil and Samoa-inspired fragrances.

Although the gloss was bright, she was impressed with how well they plumped up.

“This formula, however, is ten out of ten. I love that wet lip look,” she said.
