Jennifer Lopez and Vanessa Hudgens lead the glamour as they stepped out to the star-studded One&Only One Za’abeel grand opening in Dubai on Saturday.

US star Jennifer, 54, looked sensational in a chic black satin dress by Giambattista Valli as the arrived at the Aelia restaurant at the One Za’abeel urban resort.

Singer Jennifer’s sleeveless garment featured a low-cut neckline with ruched detail to the front.

The piece finished just above her ankle and featured a front split, while she wore a pair of black heels to match.

Jennifer wore a black cape with flared sleeves and large lapels in the same material over the top of her dress. 

She wore a pair of white satin gloves to complete her look and opted for some dazzling earrings.

Vanessa looked sensational in a red off-the-shoulder halter neck dress which featured ruffles and an asymmetrical hem.

The frock featured a plunging neckline and she completed her look by wearing a pair of tan platform heels. 

It comes after Jennifer was seen by the L-shaped swimming pool in the backyard of the new $60million mega mansion that she shares with husband Ben Affleck in a video shared to Instagram last month.

The actress was starring on her Can’t Get Enough remix music video with Latto which is off her album This Is Me… Now.

She was clearly using her own home as the location for the sexy music video in an effort to keep the budget down. 

She was in a black bikini holding a bottle of her own alcohol brand Delola as she was on the lawn at the Bel-Air, California property that has views of the surrounding mountains.

The swimming pool costs around $150,000 because it is extra large – it is about three times larger than the average pool – and also has two costly features: infinity and zero edge. Infinity means the water falls down into a lower pool and then is pumped back up – this creates a look like the pool never ends.

Zero edge means the water comes right to top when you enter the pool, as in there is no lip. There is also a built-in hot tub at the far edge.

Her pool was also accented by several long white lounge chairs that were placed in the shallow end. 

Her new album This Is Me… Now is about her rekindled love for Affleck after they ended their engagement about 20 years ago. There will also be a film to go with the new tracks which will come out on February 16, 2024.

She has been showing off her decadent new home on social media for months.

Often she poses around the impressive grounds.

This comes after the Maid In Manhattan movie star presented her Thanksgiving table not located in her dining room, but rather in the backyard of her home.

The table was long and rustic wood with green eucalyptus leaves everywhere along with lemons and oranges and hurricane lamps with white candles.

She also had Hermes gold-and-white plates which start at $200 for a salad plate and go up to $500 for a dinner plate. Lopez used two per person. 

The Mother actress was promoting her alcohol brand Delola and she noted that the beverage is great because the products are already mixed inside so there is no need to blend.

She had in her hand the L’Orange Spritz which was Premium Amaro, Orange, and Passionfruit.

Earlier this month the diva revealed a glimpse of the lush interior while posing in her hallway, as she was getting ready for the splashy LACMA Gucci event in Los Angeles. 

Her home – which she and Ben bought in May this year – is filled with white surfaces with hints of silver and gold for a modern twist. 

It’s not the first time she has been seen in her supersized dwelling – the Bronx native has also taken videos in her kitchen, and posed in her living room and on her patio with views of her infinity pool.

The Hollywood power couple purchased the home earlier this year and moved in this summer with JLo overseeing all the decorating. 

Also living with the pair are Lopez’s teen twins Max and Emme that she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Ben has split custody with his three kids – Violet, Seraphina and Samuel – that he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and they are often at the new pad as well.

Florence Pugh commanded attention as she struck a number of dramatic poses on the streets of Rome in Italy for a Valentino photoshoot on Saturday.

The actress, 28, is the fashion company’s latest muse and she looked very glamorous as the camera snapped her as the face of the brand.

Movie star Florence looked stunning in a floor-length beaded chainmail dress with a plunging neckline.

She wore a floaty cream semi-sheer cloak over the top to match the colour of the garment.

Florence could be seen waving the piece through the air as she posed for the camera during the shoot in the Italian capital. 

She wore a pair of gold heels which were visible as she lifted her dress as she walked.

Florence was surrounded by a large crew who tended to her make-up and hair, with her blonde locks slicked back over her head.

The camera followed her around as she posed on the streets against the surroundings of the beautiful European architecture.

Florence has worked with Valentino before, having done a number of shoots for the high-end label.

Last year she experienced controversy when she posed in a sheer pink dress which left her nipples on show.

But she branded the criticism ‘vulgar’, insisting people have become scared of the human body.

The Don’t Worry Darling star wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see.’

Florence also told Elle: ‘I speak the way I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my boob: I would much rather lay it all out.

‘I think the scariest thing for me are the instances where people have been upset that I’ve shown ‘too much’ of myself. When everything went down the with Valentino pink dress a year ago, my nipples were on display through a piece of fabric, and it really wound people up.’ 

It comes after Florence made her debut starring in Rachel Chinouriri’s new music video last week after she reached out to the singer on Instagram.

The star, who features in the video as the musician’s best friend, looked incredible as she wore a plunging chainmail mini dress.

In the accompanying video for Rachel’s latest song, Never Need Me, Florence teamed the 90s number with a pair of heels.

She styled her bright blonde hair into a quirky, textured look and topped her outfit off with a grungy makeup palette.

Rachel was nominated for the 2021 Ivor Novello Awards Rising Star Prize, which recognises the achievements and ambition of young musicians in the industry.

Her new track comes ahead of the release of her debut album What A Devastating Turn of Events, due 3rd May via Parlophone/Atlas Artists.

Explaining how her appearance in the music video came about, Florence said: ‘Recently I was in LA and I was listening to a few of her songs and I thought, you know what, I’m actually going to reach out to this amazing artist.

‘I just said “Thank you for making my day today” and then she replied and was also a fan and then this idea came that I was in her music video!’

Rachel added: ‘I made this song with a sense of heartbreak but empowerment. It’s about taking your power back the moment you realise that helping someone is actually hurting you because they aren’t willing to change.

‘Sometimes you end up enabling someone instead of actually helping them and carrying their load is tough.

‘Never Need Me is the moment you wish them well but you can’t continue to harm yourself by helping them.

‘It’s always a tough decision to make but once you make it, it’s a weight lifted off your shoulders for sure.’

Meanwhile Florence’s show The Custom of the Country was cancelled because Apple TV+ bosses didn’t ‘get’ her character.

Producers at the streaming giant decided to pull the plug on the project – which was adapted from Edith Wharton’s classic novel – due to apparent issues with the female protagonist Undine Spragg.

Sofia Coppola, who was set to direct the series, told The New Yorker: ‘Apple just pulled out. They pulled our funding.’

The show, set in the Gilded Age, would have followed Undine, a woman from the Midwest desperately trying to infiltrate New York City’s high society.

Sofia argued with Apple executives – who she claimed were ‘mostly dudes’ – during development, but they found the lead character too ‘unlikeable’ to move forward.

She added: ‘They didn’t get the character of Undine. She’s so “unlikable.” But so is Tony Soprano!’

The director admitted she thought Apple had ‘endless resources’ for the five episode limited series, which she claimed would have had a budget the size of ‘five Marie Antoinettes’, referring to her own movie with a $40 million budget.

The now scrapped project was first announced in 2020, and at the time Sofia heaped praise on Undine as an ‘anti-heroine’, and someone she was looking forward to bringing to life on screen.

She said at the time: ‘Undine Spragg is my favourite literary anti-heroine and I’m excited to bring her to the screen for the first time.’

In late 2021, the company decided to shut down the project, and Sofia has made her feelings on the situation clear.

She also told The New York Times: ‘The idea of an unlikable woman wasn’t their thing. But that’s what I’m saying about who’s in charge.

‘The people in charge of giving money are usually straight men, still.’

Elsewhere, Florence doesn’t think it is ‘helpful’ for celebrities to back good causes when they can’t commit their time to make a real difference.

The Oppenheimer actress has been happy to promote various charitable initiatives on her social media accounts but has been looking for something she could get involved with in a ‘bigger’ way in order to truly make an impact.

She told The Telegraph newspaper: ‘You’re always asked if you can help out in any way, and for a few years I’ve definitely done my part in the ways that I can on social media, for many little things.

‘I wanted to lend my voice in a bigger way to something that I could have the proper time to do, because it’s all very well lending yourself to it but if you don’t actually have time to be there and help, then it’s not very helpful.’

The actress became an ambassador for Race Against Dementia last year amid the Hollywood strikes.

She said: ‘It’s hugely rare to be that available, so it was amazing to have something I could be getting on with and work on something positive.’

But Florence – who was introduced to the charity via a friend who works closely with them – admitted she knew ‘barely anything’ about dementia and doesn’t want people to think she is an ‘expert’.

She said: ‘The first thing people always ask is, “So what’s your personal connection to dementia?” But I find it quite interesting that I don’t have one? I don’t have anybody in my life living with it, but I do have people in my life that are living around it, and I’m very aware that it’s something that’s not just a disease to the person, it’s a disease to the family, and there’s so little information that’s commonly known…

‘I am in no way saying I am an expert, I do not want people to think that. I think it can be so confusing in this era, when everybody is an “expert” on everything and everybody has an article to share on Instagram… While that’s equally important, it’s also important to let people know we are also learning, and it’s OK to not know. That’s definitely my angle in this.’

The Fighting With My Family actress has already raised over £20,000 via her Cooking with Flo Instagram Live programme and through her Florence Pugh Race Against Dementia Team fundraiser, she aims to raise £750,000 to fund the work of a group of elite dementia researchers for five years.

I have a confession to make: regular T-shirts make me feel a little claustrophobic. Glamour was the name of the game at the UK premiere of Ferrari at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London on Monday.

Penelope Cruz, 49, and Shailene Woodley, 32, led the way as they arrived on the red carpet at the glitzy event.

Spanish actress Penelope, who plays Laura Ferrari in the film, wore a black and white dress which featured a plunging sweetheart neckline and a sequinned top section.

The tiered white skirt featured a design of black flowers, with the lower section reaching right down to the ground.

Screen star Penelope completed her look with a cropped black jacket and she accessorised with some dazzling silver jewelled earrings. 

She was seen sheltering from the rain under a clear umbrella as she posed on the red carpet.

Shailene, who plays Lina Lardi in the movie, looked chic in a black mini dress with a plunging neckline.

The garment featured some abstract puff sleeves and perfectly accentuated her hourglass figure.

American actress Shailene wore a black pair of tights and opted for a pair of towering heels in the same colour to add a few inches to her stature.

The film has received largely negative reviews, with the special effects leaving fans openly laughing at supposedly dramatic moments during preview screenings. 

The decision to have the lead stars speaking in heavy – and often very poor – Italian accents has also drawn derision from critics. 

It is set in the 1950s and sees Enzo Ferrari, played by Adam Driver, grappling with troubles in his personal life as the Mille Miglia – an iconic Italian car race – approaches.

Enzo’s son Dino, who was meant to succeed him as the head of the family business, had died one year earlier of muscular dystrophy.

Entitled simply Ferrari, the movie is written and directed by Michael Mann, whose work includes such films as The Last Of The Mohicans, Heat and Public Enemies.

Adam is leading a starry cast that includes Penelope as Enzo’s wife Laura, to whom he was infamously unfaithful throughout his life.

Shailene is featuring as Enzo’s longtime mistress Lina Lardi, the mother of his son Piero, who is now vice chairman of Ferrari.

The logline for the movie reads: ‘A biopic of automotive mogul Enzo Ferrari, whose family redefined the idea of the high-powered Italian sports car and practically spawned the concept of Formula One racing.’

Also starring in the film is Patrick Dempsey as fellow racecar driver Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell as racer Peter Collins, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian and Gabriel Leone as driver Alfonso de Portago.

Alfonso’s Ferrari racecar blew a tire which led to him and nine people in the stands dying after the vehicle crashed.

Enzo along with the tire manufacturer were charged with manslaughter. The case was dismissed, however.

Actor Patrick, 57, who is also a racing driver in real life, looked smart in a black suit which he teamed with a matching tie.

He wore a white shirt and completed his look by opting for some polished black shoes to match the rest of his attire.

The star was seen standing arm-in-arm with his make-up artist wife Jillian Fink who looked glamorous in a black floor-length dress.

Her garment featured a plunging neckline and she wore a shawl off her shoulders, low down over her arms.

The couple, who have been married since 1999, appeared in good spirits as they posed together in the red carpet.

Elsewhere, Jack O’Connell, who plays late British racing driver Peter Collins in the film, looked dapper in a black suit for the evening.

The actor, 33, wore a black V-neck top under his jacket and completed his look with a pair of matching shoes. 

Elsewhere, Geri Halliwell-Horner looked chic in an all-white ensemble as she arrived with her British former racing driver and current Team Principal of the Red Bull Formula One team husband Christian Horner.

Spice Girl Geri, 51, donned a white trouser suit, with the pop star wearing a white top with a low cut neckline under her jacket.

The children’s author carried a beige clutch purse with her and opted for a pair of black heels for the evening.

She cosied-up to Christian as the couple, who married in 2015, posed arm-in-arm on the red carpet.

Christian wore a navy blue suit which he teamed with a white dinner shirt which he wore open at the collar.

He wore a pair of smart black shoes to match the winter coat he wore over his suit jacket. 

Meanwhile, Jemma Kidd looked chic in a grey textured top with a square neckline.

The model, 49, wore some baggy grey trousers and a pair of heels as she posed on the red carpet.

The second and only living son of Enzo Ferrari, Italian billionaire businessman and sport personality Piero Ferrari, 78, attended with his wife Romina Gingasu, 31.

Piero was seen posing with the film’s director Michael Mann at the premiere. 

You may or may not know that Phoebe Philo – the designer who made Celine the most coveted label of its time – launched the first collection under her own name a few weeks ago.

These clothes are beyond the budget of ordinary citizens, and most of them sold out within hours, but still it’s a good time to reflect on something that became Philo’s signature and is now a staple in the wardrobe of every woman above the 50: the funnel neck.

This isn’t the collar that Princess Diana wore on the cover of Vogue, or the second-skin wrist that became Shiv’s daily uniform in the TV series Succession.

This is a loose, structured polo collar that is wide enough and high enough to pull around your ears.

When Philo was with Celine, she wore this to take a bow at the end of her shows, with chinos and white sneakers.

In every portrait taken of her at the time, she is either staring out from under a thick ribbed cowl pulled up to her nose, or her face is nestled in a cashmere cowl. It is no coincidence that Philo always wore a high-neck sweater in photos. The neckline forms a smooth base for the face and, slightly folded over on one side, creates a soft, jawline-flattering frame.

With a stiff, tailored jacket draped around the shoulders, or a jacket with sharp shoulders and a shrug on top (both Philo signatures), you look businesslike and uncluttered: no buttons, no collar, no competing neckline, just a tight united front.

It’s the modern way to look dressed up yet casual. And if you don’t like your neck, it covers that problem too.

It is not surprising that this sweater model has become one of the building blocks of a chic working woman’s wardrobe, the perfect complement to smart wide-leg trousers or luxurious track pants, as well as to combinations with flowing midi skirts. And it doesn’t have to cost Philo any prizes: it’s all about the proportions and weight.

Zara is my favorite for medium weight structured polo necks.

The one I wear most days is light gray with a charcoal contrast trim which makes it look stylish (although it is polyester and acrylic and machine washable). It’s hip-length with side slits for a neat fit, loose enough to wear a shirt underneath, and of course has just the right neck (€35.99, zara.com).

My perfect turtleneck is ribbed; plain polo necks can look boggy. It should be about 18.5 to 19 centimeters high – that’s long enough that you can stand with plenty of wrinkles under your ears (your head should sit in them like a strawberry in its skin), and wide enough so that when it folds over is, You don’t look like you’re wearing a wetsuit.

Too short polo necks that are cut in exactly the wrong place and draw attention to your neck; if ones are too long, you can’t stand them upright and they can look bulky when folded or, worse, hang in a hood and instantly add a decade to your age.

A tight-fitting polo neck will make you look like a Cluedo piece with a giant head, and a too-thick polo neck will look like a neck brace.

To avoid all of the above, I look for polo necks with a slit at the back – they have a looser fit and never look bulky – side vents to keep the shape from looking boxy, and a slightly fluffy texture because this gives them a designer feel.

As well as Zara, Arket (£77, arket.com) and Marks & Spencer (£35, markandspencer.com) are good places to look for a high-neck jumper. Chinti & Parker makes a smart turtleneck with a center seam in a cashmere wool blend (£71.25, chinti andparker.com) and the colors that will serve you best are grey, navy and brown.

I also favor funnel necks – ones that don’t roll over – because they can look neater. Marks & Spencer does well in brown (£69), while Anya Hindmarch’s cashmere jumper for Uniqlo, with the eyelet detail on the neck, would make a good Christmas gift if anyone is feeling generous (£109.90, uniqlo.com) .

Otherwise there are turtlenecks (shorter polo necks), which are harder to get right, but if I didn’t like my neck I’d be tempted by Hush’s style in ecru with black crochet seams (£95, hush- uk .com).

It happens to be called Celine and, appropriately, looks smarter and cooler than your average sweater.
