In the middle of a Canadian city lies an abandoned shopping center that serves as a time capsule for the ’90s, as a fascinating documentary reveals.

Filmmaker Jake Williams was granted access to the City Center Mall in Hamilton, Ontario, and he took a thorough walk around to examine its innards.

He was shocked to discover that the mall – which opened in 1990 after a CA$150 million investment and closed in 2022 – appeared frozen in time, with the interior “completely preserved and completely unchanged.”

In one scene, he enters a former office, where he finds clothes in a closet, photos lying around and a retro computer on the desk. As he turns the camera around, he says, “Oh my God, has anyone been here since 1990?”

“There are pictures of them building this room… and painting it. I think I accidentally entered the 1994 office. This is bizarre…the clothes are scattered everywhere,” he added.

In another scene, Jake ventures to the mall’s food court, where he finds the remains of several eateries, including a Persian restaurant and an Italian that sells a plate of pasta for CA$3.99.

Other items on the menu include 12 wings for CA$10.99 and a hot chicken sub for CA$5.49.

While looking around the dining room, Jakes tells viewers that “the whole place stinks like hell.”

Of the food court design, he says the aqua green “chairs and tables bring back so much nostalgia” and “even the hip cans are straight out of the 90s.”

As Jake walks through the mall, viewers get a sense of its scale, with the main atrium having a grand vaulted ceiling and a glass elevator providing access to two balcony levels.

When it was open, the City Center Mall offered more than 50,000 square feet of commercial space, and hundreds of people worked in the sprawling building.

Jake reveals that the mall was originally called the Hamilton Eaton Center and has faced several hurdles over the years as footfall declined. After the name change and sale to a new owner, it finally closed its doors on December 26, 2022.

In Jake’s film, it appears that after closing most of the contents are left behind.

A Dollar Store in the mall still has “closing sale” stickers taped to the outside, along with other signs informing shoppers that a 70 percent discount applies to all merchandise.

At the discount store, Jake discovers that many unsold items have been thrown away, while he also notices a ‘wall of shame’ behind the cash registers with photos of unruly customers still taped up.

In another part of the building, Jake discovers an office space that was used as a call center, with cubicles still intact and decorated with headsets.

Meanwhile, another corner of the mall was converted into a gym to attract customers. However, no machine was left behind.

Regarding the condition of the building, Jake says that the “disrepair doesn’t look that bad, but when you look in certain corners it starts to show that this building has only just been here.”

He notes that there is water damage in some parts of the structure, with the “paint starting to peel.”

His images also show that some interiors, such as the elevator doors, have been vandalized with graffiti.

After the shopping center closed, there were ambitions to demolish it to make way for a $1 billion mixed-use residential and retail development, but plans are currently on hold.

The developer who bought the abandoned mall, IN8 Developments, said CBC in December 2023 that it had “halted the project and demolition until the real estate market improves.”

Company Chairman Darryl Firsten offered hope to the city’s residents, adding, “In the meantime, we will continue to refine and improve our design.” It will be a great project.’

I was wiping down the kitchen surfaces and humming to myself when I felt a pair of hands on my waist. Normally, I would have turned to my husband with a smile and pressed myself against him in the promise of what was to come later. But now, strangely enough, all I felt was irritation.

The hands went higher. I felt anger – a bit like PMT, irrational and deep in my stomach.

“Don’t touch me,” I said. His face was shocked and hurt. I felt terrible, but distant at the same time.

My husband, Jim, and I have always had a passionate, playful and inventive sex life. From exciting role play to handcuffs and making out at any time of the day: sex has always been an intrinsic part of our 20-year relationship.

However, eight weeks ago I started using Ozempic injections. All the longing I normally feel for Jim is gone, along with the extra pounds. I feel better about my body than I have in years, but I don’t feel like having sex at all. The only emotion I feel when he comes near me is anger and a faint sense of disgust.

Understandably, Jim really wants me to get off the injections.

I’m a nurse in my local GP practice in a busy Dorset town, and I’m always in a hurry. When you work 11-hour days, you tend to eat when you can.

Patients bring cakes and cookies all the time, and it’s impossible to resist. I never feel full and I’m an emotional eater. Whether I’m happy, sad, grieving or overwhelmed, my go-to is the cookie tin, chips or bottle of wine. I knew I needed to make long-term changes, but I found it impossible to get started. I tried not to eat food during the day and if I managed, I would binge eat at night.

My weight gain really started during Covid and by January this year I had gained two stone. All my clothes were tight and I felt uncomfortable with the way I looked.

I’m in my 40s and I knew that much of the weight gain posed health risks for the future. We’re going on vacation in August and I don’t want to feel like the mother people whisper about because I let myself go.

Since I have a 15 year old daughter, I am extremely careful about dieting or restricting food, so I would never skip meals. We don’t have a scale at home – I weigh myself at work, so Ozempic seemed like a good solution. I would continue to eat with the family, but with smaller portions.

Before using Ozempic, I did a lot of research. I knew the most common side effects; especially headache and nausea. And I discussed it with Jim, who said if I felt I should do it, he was right behind me. I’d say he now regrets that decision.

I found an online pharmacy that sold it for £170, which would last four weeks. I had to fill out a long questionnaire. Then they asked for a photo of me, which I sent, and then the prescription had to be approved by a GP, which happened the next day.

Within 24 hours of my first injection I lost my appetite. It was extraordinary. It was lunchtime at work and normally I would try to convince myself to eat a salad instead of a mayonnaise sandwich or a patty, but I realized I didn’t feel like eating. Normally medicine takes some time to work, but this was less than a day. It was an exciting feeling.

That afternoon I was surprised at how different I felt. At that point I was going to go straight to the cookie jar, but I didn’t feel like doing that. I was excited. It was clear that the weight would melt away and I would feel good about myself in no time.

Over the course of that week, I felt more and more satisfied with my decision. I wondered if I might feel less energetic because I ate less, but I increased my water intake significantly and woke up every morning feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. It was fantastic.

I didn’t see much of Jim that week. He is a technical engineer and we had opposite shifts. But then we both had a weekend off and we thought: we’re going to do something fun. For us, that would always end in sex. That’s when he went in for a cuddle in the kitchen and I realized I just couldn’t stand him touching me. I wasn’t even remotely interested.

What the expert says…

Although low libido is not listed as a side effect of Ozempic, some of those who use it report a reduction in libido and sensation, writes intimate health expert Dr. Shirin Lakhani.

Ozempic (semaglutide) works by targeting the hormone GLP-1, which tells the body that it is full and that you don’t want to eat anymore. But it also appears to suppress sexual function in some individuals.

No research has yet been done into how and why this happens. Rapid weight loss can affect hormone balance, just like a restricted diet. It is therefore possible that the mechanism of action causes this effect.

Ozempic can also cause fatigue and some speculate that it could affect other hormone pathways.

A 2023 analysis found that non-diabetic men taking semaglutide had a slightly higher risk of erectile dysfunction. In women, the effect on libido is, as far as I can tell, purely anecdotal. There is no indication that changes would be permanent.

Things did not get better in the following weeks. I don’t want to deprive him of sex – why should he have to suffer too? But I was very honest with him and said that I don’t get anything from it. God help me, but when he started kissing me, I even used the words, “Just keep going.”

I respond physically – I kiss him back and I touch him – but I feel nothing. He’s tried everything. And I mean everything. He put so much effort into massages and tried different ways to arouse me. But I’m just not interested. There’s no way I can get excited. Normally I come easily, but now there is nothing.

Not only has all the pleasure from eating disappeared – I have to force myself to eat – but I also no longer feel like drinking alcohol. I no longer make plans to go out with friends – or to go out to dinner with my husband. And what’s the point of me and Jim dating or going away if I don’t want to have sex?

I feel like I’ve lost the joys that make life so rich. There’s nothing like a delicious, fresh glass of white wine, a creamy curry or the pure sweaty pleasure of great sex. but I don’t enjoy it anymore? I’m thinner, but I’m miserable. It’s Hobson’s choice.

Since this happened, I’ve googled “Ozempic and lost libido,” and I see others have reported it as a side effect.

Now Jim asks how long I plan to stay on the Ozempic. I said: for now I will continue. I have lost ten kilos and have enough for four more weeks. But I imagine that more than a month like this could damage our marriage. And it’s too expensive to risk that.

So in April I will stop the weekly injections and hope that everything will return to normal. I’m eager to put on nice underwear, feel sexy again with my slimmer figure, and seduce my man the way he deserves!

As told to Alice Smellie. Naam has changed

A heated debate broke out on Good Morning Britain as guests clashed over whether motherhood is ruining women’s careers.

Broadcaster and mother-of-two Narinder Kaur said that ‘mothers need to be at home’ because they ‘can’t have both’, while fashion designer and mother-of-three Savannah Miller argued that women ‘can do both’.

The debate comes after singer Lily Allen admitted having children ‘ruined’ her career and rejected the idea that women can ‘have it all’.

Agreeing with the Smile singer, Narinder said that a woman having children and a successful career is ‘a myth’.

She added: “I want to pat Lily Allen on the back for being completely honest. I think she has triggered a lot of mothers who believe in the myth that you can have it all, but you can’t.

Broadcaster and mother-of-two Narinder Kaur said ‘mothers need to be at home’ because they ‘can’t have both’ in GMB debate

‘You absolutely cannot have a successful career and raise children. It’s a lie because if you want to be a fully present mother and meet their physical and emotional needs, you have to be a stay-at-home mom.”

Savannah disagreed, saying that women can balance motherhood and career, but they must “make sacrifices.”

She said: ‘I don’t believe we can have everything, we have to make sacrifices. However, it is very harmful to tell your daughters that they will have to choose between being a mother or having a career.

‘Also telling your sons that this is what you expect from your wife or girlfriend when they give birth – that they are just going to put their careers on the shelf and yours is more important – is, quite frankly, disgusting.

‘I want to raise boys who go out into the world to support women. Why is a man’s career given more value than a woman’s? I do not feel like it.’

The fashion designer revealed that she was a ‘flexible worker’ when she had children and had people around her who could help.

She said: ‘I had people from my village help me when I couldn’t get to the school gate and I would put my children to bed every night, read them a story and go back to my laptop. It is very damaging to tell women that their careers do not have the same value as men’s.’

Narinder disagreed and said, “We don’t have to be Superwoman, we have to be mothers at home with our children. Unfortunately, this world is not made for two working parents and as a mother I believe that the mother should be at home with the children.’

Viewers rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to leave their thoughts on the controversial topic.

One person said: ‘Lily Allen’s comments highlight the need for more discussion and support around the challenges parents face in the workplace. It’s not about ‘having it all’, it’s about finding a balance that works for you.’

Another said: ‘How is this even a debate? A career isn’t really a sacrifice for having children. Have some damn perspective.”

Someone else said: ‘It’s impossible to be 100% committed to a job and 100% committed to raising children.

‘Women seem to be obsessed with proving they can do anything, but they can’t! I am a stay at home mom and am ashamed that I made that choice! I think your career needs to be put on hold to raise your child.”

A fourth said: ‘They don’t ruin a career, but if you are the main childcare provider, or even share equally with your partner, having children limits your ability to continue rising through the ranks!

‘I’ve often felt like I’m not giving, both at work and as a mother, the juggling guilt is real!’

The debate comes after Lily Allen admitted her two daughters ‘totally ruined’ her pop career because she chose to prioritize them over work, insisting: ‘You can’t have it all’.

The 38-year-old singer and actress said she believes women should decide whether to put their children or their careers first, saying she chose the former.

‘My children ruined my career. “I love them and they complete me, but in terms of pop stardom they’ve totally ruined it,” she told the BBC Radio Times podcast.

“I get really annoyed when people say you can have it all, because honestly, you can’t.

The 38-year-old singer and actress said she believes women should decide whether to put their children or their careers first, saying she chose the former (L-R: Lily Allen, daughters Marnie Rose Cooper and Ethel Cooper, and actor husband David Harbor)

‘Some people choose their career over their children and that’s their prerogative, but my parents were quite absent when I was little.

“I feel like it left some nasty scars that I don’t want to repeat on mine.”

Lily’s father is actor Keith Allen, 70, who left her film producer mother Alison Owen, 63, when Lily was four.

Lily has now said that she has ‘chosen to take a step back and focus on my children’ and she is glad she did because ‘they are quite versatile.’

The Smile singer shares two daughters Ethel Mary, 12, and Marnie Rose, 10, with her builder ex-husband Sam Cooper, 45, but released her last studio album No Shame in 2018.

Lily now lives in New York with her children and new husband, Stranger Things star David Harbour, 48, who she married in 2020 and has turned her hand to acting.

Daffodils are blooming, temperatures are rising, the days are getting longer – all clear signs of spring. But there’s another, less welcome change in store: At 2 a.m. on Sunday, most people in the United States will move their clocks forward an hour.

For many of us, this transition is more difficult than when we “relapse” in the fall, in part because we lose an hour of sleep, said Dr. Rachel Ziegler, a sleep medicine physician at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Minnesota. .

“But it’s actually much more than that,” she said, because the clock change also shifts the timing of sunrise and sunset. After we jump forward, the mornings will be darker and the evenings lighter, making it more challenging to both wake up and fall asleep.

In fact, this can cause a months-long mismatch between our internal clocks and our school and work schedules, leaving many people chronically sleep deprived, said Dr. James Rowley, president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. This is why the organization supports the complete elimination of daylight saving time, he added.

But for now, we have to jump ahead. Here’s what you can do to make this change a little less painful.

One of the best ways to protect against this disruption is to get enough sleep — usually defined as seven or more hours if you’re an adult — for at least a few nights before changing the clocks, says Michael Grandner, director of the sleep and sleep department. health research program at the University of Arizona.

That way, “you come from a place of strength,” and not from lack of sleep, he said.

The time change can be especially difficult for those who wake up early during the week but sleep in on weekends, said Dr. Rowley – causing what scientists call ‘social jet lag’. If you’re one of those people, try to avoid sleeping in this weekend, he said, because the time change will add another hour of “jet lag.”

Starting at least a few days before the time change, try to go to bed and wake up about 15 minutes earlier each day, says Jade Wu, a sleep psychologist and researcher at Duke University School of Medicine. This can help ease the transition, she said.

“It’s almost like cycling across time zones instead of flying across time zones,” she said.

Shifting your meals in the same way can also adjust your body’s internal clock, Dr. Rowley said.

These incremental shifts can be especially helpful for those who struggle with changes in routines, such as small children and adults with dementia, said Dr. Wu.

Consider planning some fun activities for Sunday, said Dr. Wu, especially if daylight saving time makes you feel irritable or down.

Spending time outside, exercising or socializing with friends can help prevent a bad mood, said Dr. Wu. And a more active day will likely help you fall asleep earlier on Sunday night, setting you up for a better Monday, she added.

Try to get as much morning light as possible during the days after the change, Dr. suggested. Grandner. Light signals your body that it’s time to wake up, which can help you adjust to the new clock time, he added.

Open your blinds and sit by the window for a few minutes, or take a morning walk, he said. If it is still dark when you wake up, turn on the bright lights in your home or consider using a light therapy lamp.

Caffeine can help you wake up and adjust to the clock change in the morning, said Dr. Ziegler. But remember that you should also adjust to an earlier bedtime, so try to avoid caffeine after 3 p.m., or earlier if you’re sensitive to caffeine, she added.

People are sometimes tempted to drink alcohol to fall asleep, Dr. Grandner said. But this strategy can backfire, as alcohol can cause you to wake up more often during the night, leading to a poorer night’s sleep.

If the switch to daylight saving time causes you to sleep less, you may feel hungrier than usual or crave less healthy foods, says Frank Scheer, a neuroscientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. To help offset those cravings, it’s best to eat balanced, satisfying meals high in fiber and protein for a few days after the time change, he said.

If daylight saving time sneaks up on you before you’ve had time to prepare, that’s OK too, said Dr. Wu. “You just have to accept that you might feel really bad that first Monday.”

According to a 2019 online survey of approximately 2,000 U.S. adultsmore than half said they felt “extremely” or “somewhat tired” after the spring clock change.

If it helps at all, said Dr. Wu, please know that you are not alone.

Wellbeing promoter Leah Stapleton (@leahmstapleton) said she was influenced by a group of popular sorority girls who prioritize beauty.

The University of Alabama, known for its hardcore student organizations, went viral last year after students shared how they prepare for prayer day.

And one hack many of them use to look good enough to secure a spot: teeth whitening.

So Leah followed suit from afar.

“Bama Rush TikTok taught me to brush my teeth with whitening mouthwash,” she began in the clamp.

“And it’s honestly the best tip ever for whitening my teeth without completely ruining them.”

She filmed herself pouring the mouthwash over her toothbrush and then scrubbing the surface as you normally would with paste.

When she was done, she showed off her pearly white grill.

In addition to being cheaper than teeth whitening strips, a bottle of Crest 3D Glamorous White Mouthwash only costs $5 at TargetAccording to Leah, it is better for your oral hygiene.

“My dentist told me to stop using teeth whitener, so this is my compromise.”

My dad thought it would be a good idea to order fake teeth from Temu – it was a bust and people say he looks like ‘Jurgen Klopp from Wish’

Viewers loved the hack.

“I’ve been doing this since high school because my mom wouldn’t let me get whitening strips,” one person admitted.

“Thanks for this. I bet it’s much better for my sensitive teeth than strips,” another added.

APPLE fans have been urged to stop constantly “quitting” their apps.

If you always swipe them closed in your iPhone's app drawer, you're making a big mistake.

It's a common belief that you should force close apps by swiping them closed.

The idea is that this improves battery life and performance, but it's a total myth.

In fact, Apple recommends only closing an app in extreme circumstances, saying that closing all your apps will provide no battery benefit.

A Reddit thread asked whether it's worth closing apps to improve performance, and iPhone owners were strongly advised against it.

“You don't have to do that. You don't even have to do that on Android,” one user warned.

Another explained: “Many people are under the mistaken impression that manually closing iOS apps is a good thing.

“But in reality, force-closing apps makes the device work harder and consume more battery next one time those apps are used.

“The operating system manages apps in a much more efficient way than you can.

“The only reason you should think about force-closing apps is if you're troubleshooting a problem.”

When an app is not in use, it typically goes into one of several background states.

These suspended states are designed not to consume significant amounts of power to preserve battery performance and life.

However, if you force quit apps, your iPhone will have to work harder to fully restart them the next time.

A popular 2022 TikTok video by @carterpcs also urged users to stop closing apps, gaining over 212,000 likes.

Apple itself has urged users to force quit apps only if they are unresponsive or behaving improperly.

“If an app seems unresponsive or unresponsive frozenyou can close it and then open it again,” Apple explains.

“You should only close an app if it becomes unresponsive.”

A separate page notes: “Normally there is no reason to close an app; for example, closing it does not save any battery power.”

But some iPhone owners may find it difficult to break this habit.

One aggrieved Apple fan wrote: “You monsters just leave all your apps open all the time???????”

Another said: “My husband can't deal with it and he closes everything after he's done with it. He goes crazy when he sees how many apps are open and I go crazy when he closes them for me lol.”

And someone added: “I'm not trying to gain any advantage or thinking about the battery, I just can't stand the visual chaos.”

In a recent video, the 32-year-old mom revealed her “Shampooing 101” hack that will keep your hair both clean and healthy.

She said, 'If you're washing the ends of your hair, you're doing it wrong.

“Shampoo is for cleaning your scalp and hair roots.

“Washing the ends can cause tangles and possible breakage.

“The shampoo running through your ends as you rinse is enough to gently clean and remove the product.”

Danielle's best tip not only improves the quality of your hair, but because you need less shampoo, you also save money!

And that's not all How you wash your hair, that makes a difference, it's also what product you use.

Danielle, who hosts her own parenting podcast Keep it informalsaid there are “hundreds of great shampoo brands” that can help your tresses.

But she admits there are three she swears by and always recommends to clients.

She said: “Colour Wow's color-protecting shampoo and conditioner is amazing.

My hair has grown past my hips – my favorite three-ingredient DIY mask promotes growth and thickness, it's the best combination ever

“It's sulfate and residue free, so its main purpose is to clean your hair, which sounds obvious, but not all shampoos' main purpose is to do that, believe it or not.

“It cleanses your hair, conditions your color, while relieving excess oil, product buildup, dry skin cells, and any flakes on your scalp.”

“If your hair is damaged, I would opt for Reskin's acid bonding range,” she continued.

“It's very concentrated, but if your hair is damaged, it's going to need it and it's amazing.

“If your hair is not damaged, but is very dry or quite coarse, Matrix food for soft is such a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.”

Danielle's 5 tips for healthy hair

  • Always brush and detangle hair before washing
  • Invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner
  • Do not forget about hair masks, ideally once a week
  • Limit the amount of heat you apply to your hair
  • If you do use heat, always use a heat protection spray

A 'QUICK-FIX' energy saving solution that promises to reduce bills could actually destroy lives.

Installing insulation around the house is a well-known way to prevent heat loss and reduce gas and electricity costs.

Attic roll, cavity wall and floor insulation are options, while DIY measures such as window tape and foam lining for pipes can be cheaper but effective.

But one method – spray foam insulation – can leave households unable to sell their homes or get a mortgage.

The method can also leave people thousands of dollars out of pocket to repair or even reduce the value of your home.

One affected couple said their lives “fell apart” after insulation was installed in their attic and later discovered it was unsellable.

The Sun revealed how lenders are routinely rejecting mortgage applications for homes with foam insulation in the roof, affecting an estimated 250,000 homes.

While it is not illegal, it must be done by professionals and is only appropriate under certain circumstances.

rogue traders are taking advantage of elderly and vulnerable people desperate to reduce their rising gas and electricity bills.

Wales Against Scams Partnership (WASP) has warned it has seen a surge in these scammers misleading older people concerned about their bills.

The method “can too often be marketed as an easy and simplistic solution,” the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) said in a report last year to help consumers.

“In fact, the installation of spray foam should really be viewed as a significant and fundamental change to a home that needs to be carefully considered and planned,” it added.

How to reduce energy costs and get help with FOUR major household bills

WASP said one of the targets was persuaded to spend £3,500 on spray foam but found they could not sell their home.

Spray foam insulation risks

According to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), there are several risks associated with spray foam insulation

RICS advises consumers to carry out appropriate checks on the material used, as there are different types of spray foam, and to be aware of the risks involved.

Anyone considering insulation should use independent experts, who are both commercially and independently separated from the installer and manufacturer.

Hidden problems – It can make it difficult to spot other problems with the roof as it limits the view of the space, for example roof damage from storms or a leak.

Moisture and condensation – Poorly installed insulation can lead to moisture and uncontrolled condensation, which can cause damage.

Once installed, the measures are not easy or cheap to reverse.

Removing it from a typical three-bed home can cost anywhere between £3,000 and £4,000, depending on how much foam needs to be disposed of, says Ollie Creevy, director of Insulation Advisor.

Read the full RICS consumer guide at www.rics.org/news-insights/rics-release-new-spray-foam-consumer-guide.

They were forced to spend a further £2,000 to remove it and by the time they put it back on the market two months later the value of the property had fallen by £15,000.

Sam Young, policy officer at charity Age Cymru and head of WASP, said: “We understand that many older people are concerned about how they will pay their fuel bills this winter and as a result may be even more vulnerable to rogue traders.

“Previous studies have shown that older people are the age group most likely to be targeted by scammers. National Trading Standards data shows that 85% of doorstep scam victims are over 65.”

The group urged older people to seek expert advice first.

Rogue traders can often target older people at the door, where they can use high-pressure sales tricks to agree to an installation.

But cold calling is also a tactic used by cowboy installers, and there are also online advertisements that prey on people.

Tony Neate, CEO of Get Safe Online, said: “While you traditionally think of rogue builders approaching you on your doorstep, it's also important not to be fooled by online advertisements. Before you commit, make sure you do your homework.

“Check that the builder is reputable by looking at reviews and make sure your mortgage lender will agree to any changes you are considering making.”

Our lives 'fell apart'

A COUPLE whose home became unmortgable after insulation was installed said their lives were 'falling apart'.

Fiona and Andre Barton paid £4,926 for spray foam insulation in their loft.

But the couple, from Midlothian, Edinburgh, were later told that houses with spray foam insulation are 'unmortgable'.

The couple, who planned to move, realized they could not sell their home due to the attic insulation.

After finding a specialist company in Liverpool, Fiona and Andre paid a further £5,490 to remove the spray foam insulation and the two containers needed to remove it.

The couple are keen to raise awareness of professional-looking insulation scams, in the hope that others can avoid the costs and stress they face.

“They sounded very professional and credible, otherwise we wouldn't have gone through with it,” said Fiona.

“The guy said he could come and look at our loft because it might need to be upgraded with insulation.

“I thought our coop was fine because we had a lot of insulation put in, but he came back down and he had pictures on his iPad showing us that the coop was damp.

“They arrived at just the right time, it was -5 degrees outside, it was Christmas, and they told us our coop was inadequate.

“He had taken some measurements on a machine and said it looked pretty bad, but he had a solution with this spray foam insulation, and would we like to hear more about that?

“We said yes, so a guy showed up that night and gave us all this information about how great it was and how it would definitely help keep our house warm.

'He said it would reduce the cost of our fuel – and given the cost of living crisis this seemed to be the way to go.

“Spray foam insulation was something I had never heard of. I did a quick search on the company's website and of course the reviews were all five stars.

“He also said that if we decided on the spot to go through with it, he would give us a price reduction.

“We decided it sounded reasonable, and we went ahead with it – and they had it installed quickly.

When the couple came to sell their house, a surveyor noticed the spray foam insulation.

“The surveyor told me we couldn't market it at the moment and asked if we had any information or contracts,” Fiona said.

“I looked at my emails and found nothing. The only way I knew the company that had done this was because I paid by credit card and I had the receipt.

“Then the alarm bells started ringing. I thought, 'Oh my God, we've been cheated.'”

The pair then had to try to fix the problem and pay more than the installation cost.

“It was such a large amount that they had to remove it from our loft,” says Fiona.

“My world collapsed. We had already bought our next house and had to sell to move.”

The simple problem with Kenny Smith's comments on TNT during the best moment of All-Star Saturday was that they made no sense.

What Smith said when the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry defeated the New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu in a three-point match made for great TV was distracting because of its lack of logic and timing. We were looking at a nice sports Picasso, and strangely all Smith could say was that the canvas wasn't quite right in his eyes.

Curry, considered by most to be the greatest shooter of all time, narrowly defeated Ionescu 29-26, shooting from beyond the NBA three-point line.

“She should have shot from the woman's line,” Smith said immediately after Curry's clutch shots. “That would have been a fair game.”

Reggie Miller, TNT's other analyst at the event, tried to get the broadcast back on track.

'Why are you imposing those boundaries on her? She wanted to shoot from there,” Miller said.

Smith continued, adding: “She should have shot from the line. There is a women's T-shirt in golf and there is a men's T-shirt for a reason.”

Everyone watching was more than willing to drop out of this conversation, but then things got extra weird when Miller added, “I think you want her to play with dolls.”

Smith said, “No, I want her to shoot from where you're shooting. And there's nothing wrong with playing with dolls.”

It is not outlandish to suggest that every shooter should shoot within the guidelines of his league's rules. But this is pre-match chatter, not something in the middle of a fun moment. And Ionescu himself wanted to shoot from NBA range.

What Smith said demeaned Ionescu's excellent performance. Had she just competed in the regular NBA three-point contest on Saturday night, her 26-point performance would have tied champion Damian Lillard's score in the final round.

If that had happened, the immediate response wouldn't have been, “Should she have shot from closer?”

The Smith and TNT issue was too much all night Statler and Waldorf and not enough party.

We're all for criticism, but this was a fun event, and every moment doesn't need to be compared as if it were up to some standard of the past. We are all looking forward to the event. A broadcast isn't Twitter/X, where you complain about everything (although Smith and Miller disagreed about the legendarily bad dunk contest judges).

Smith is a key part of the most iconic studio show of all time, “Inside the NBA.” What makes it the best — well, aside from Charles Barkley — is that the panelists will only say something curious about the NBA, or about each other, or about the world. It works because a studio show is a blank slate for creating sports TV art.

Saturday evening we all enjoyed the photos on our screen. While women's hoops was having a renaissance moment, led by Caitlin Clark, here we were on the biggest professional stage, with the man considered the greatest shooter of all time taking on Ionescu.

It was a great moment for basketball. That was what Smith was missing.

At that moment, when Ionescu went shot for shot with the king, the commentary should have reflected the competition. Smith's intentions may not have been bad, but unlike Ionescu, he just missed the moment.

A woman has taken to social media for advice after facing a huge dilemma.

She recently made friends with someone who is getting married and even got an invite to the wedding.

However, the bridesmaid dropped a bombshell during a night out, leaving her conflicted over whether she should tell the bride.

Miami's Karo Aprano explained the whole story on TikTok, prompting a wave of comments urging her to “do the right thing.”

The video, which was placed under her hand @karoapranohas already been seen by more than a million people.

A woman has taken to social media for advice after facing a huge dilemma

She told her followers, “There is some marital drama going on in my life right now that I need to share. So I befriended a girl who was getting married and she invited me to her wedding.

“I'm not in her bridal party, we literally just met and became friends, but she invited me with her and her bridesmaids and her entire bridal party.

“Just so I meet people and know people who are going to be at the wedding and I become friends with her friends.”

Shocked, Karo continued: 'Last weekend we were out and the bridesmaid told me that the groom slept with the bride's sister and the bride has no idea – and he's going to do it again.

“So I'm like, woah woah, I don't need to know this information, I don't want to know this information, you're putting me in a very uncomfortable situation.

“Can we rewind to five minutes ago, when I didn't know this yet? Because I didn't want to know this and I still don't want to know this.

'The girl telling me this is the bridesmaid, she is closest to the bride. I'm there like tell her, she's getting married in two weeks, you can't let her marry this man.

'She says no, I can't do it and I say, you have to do it, you have to tell her. She keeps saying no, she says I'm not going to do it, I'm not going to tell her, I'm not going to ruin her wedding or ruin her relationship with the man she's been with for so long.

The TikToker asks: 'How are you going to get your best friend to marry a guy who has not only been with her sister but also goes around saying he'll do it again?'

However, despite her best efforts, she couldn't convince the bridesmaid to tell the bride what she knows, putting the pressure on herself.

Karo notes: 'As for the sister, that's a different story and that's crazy, that's dirty, I don't understand people who do that. But that's something different.

“Imagine I'm sitting in the middle of the club, she's telling me this information and I'm thinking, you're not going to tell her?

'Of course I feel super uncomfortable now, because who am I to tell her that? I barely know this girl.

“I met her a month ago, I'm not the one to tell her that her fiancé is with her sister. Could you imagine?'

She reasons: 'Half of me wants to tell because of the girl code, I'm very big on that, but the other half of me says: I don't know her like that.

“I feel like that's none of my business, I feel like of all people I'm the last one who should be involved. I shouldn't even know this information.

More than 2,500 people flocked to the comments to share their own thoughts on the situation – with many thinking TikToker is making the wrong choice

“Maybe I was the one who was told that I'm not really close to anyone because I'm the irrelevant part of the group, which means I'm the new one.

'Sometimes when girls drink tea [gossip] that they know they can't tell, but they want to get it off their chest, then they're going to tell the irrelevant party.

“That's exactly what I'm doing now because I couldn't keep this information to myself.”

She finally concludes, “So I've been going back and forth in my head all day, like, I shouldn't tell her, right? No, I'm not going to tell her.

'I'm not going to do that. First of all, she might not even believe me. I will not do it'.

However, more than 2,500 people flocked to the comments to share their own thoughts on the situation – with many thinking the TikToker is making the wrong choice.

One user wrote: 'You were told for a reason. You have nothing to lose because you don't really know these people. Tell her and then tell her to everyone who knows about it.”

A second agreed: 'Maybe this is why you ended up in her life. You wouldn't want it to happen to you. If the friendship ends, that's okay. You just met. Save her.'

Meanwhile, a third suggested: 'Write her a note and don't sign it,' while a fourth added: 'Girl you've got nothing to lose, just do it because it's the right thing.'

However, one viewer said: 'I once told a best friend that her boyfriend was cheating on her. She sided with him. We never spoke again. Lesson learned. Never tell'.

Another agreed: 'My mother caught her good friend's husband with another woman at the cinema. Her friend sided with the man and didn't believe it.'

Concerned, another asked: 'What if she sees this video?', while a second added: 'That's what I thought too'.

Someone else advised: 'I would have told her the bridesmaid told me your sister is sleeping with your fiancé. That would make her confront all three of them.”
