The wrap was retired in 2020 and fans have been begging for its return ever since.

Last week The Sun was invited to try out the morning snack alongside the various items also on the menu today.

I was excited to give it a try, especially considering the change to a crucial ingredient: the eggs.

Previously, the wrap contained an omelet-style folded egg, but now foodies get two round eggs inside.

This is more in the style of the one in Maccies' iconic McMuffin.

Diners can get their hands on the wrap starting this morning.

You can collect it from all restaurants in the UK and Ireland, at drive-thrus and via home delivery apps.

The chain removed both Breakfast Wraps and Breakfast Bagels from restaurants in March 2020.

Those who prayed for their return were left devastated in January 2022 when it was confirmed the items were gone for good.

For four years, fans' cries fell on deaf ears, but not anymore.

I tried McDonald's new pink desserts first

But what does it taste like and is it as delicious as everyone remembers?

It now consists of a pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs and a slice of bacon.

This is then topped with a crispy potato rosti and cheese, all served in a tortilla wrap and you can order it with tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

It's worth keeping in mind that I haven't tried the previous carnation from the shawl, so I can't directly compare it to the original.

I tried the ketchup variety first, trying to get as many layered items into one bite at once.

The best way to describe it is a full English breakfast, all together in a neat package.

In one bite you get a little bit of everything, creating many different flavors at once, from the salty of the bacon to the slightly creamy taste of the cheese.

Not only that, but the different items all bring different textures to the table: the slightly squid-like feel of the eggs and the crispiness of the hash browns.

This all goes well with the pure taste and soft texture of the tortilla wrap.

It reminded me of the chain's Mighty McMuffin, which also combines the same ingredients apart from the hash brown, so this is already a step up.

Next one up I tried the version with brown sauce.

Brown sauce wouldn't be my personal choice for an English breakfast condiment, but I did like how the spicy flavor blended with the other items.

Personally I hope Maccies will keep the wrap on, it's the perfect addition to the breakfast spread and feels like a lighter option than a dense McMuffin.

The returning favorite is available from €4.39 on its own, or €5.89 for a meal with a drink and a potato wedge.

But remember that prices vary from restaurant to restaurant, so be sure to double check before paying.

It will be available in restaurants from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Fans should be quick, though, as the breakfast snack will only be available for a limited time, but if it's popular it could be made permanent.

The wrap is paired with a range of other breakfast items, including the iconic McMuffins and Cheesy Bacon Flatbreads.

What else is being added to the McDonald's menu?

The fast food giant gives its McSpicy a major spice upgrade with the help of Frank's RedHot mayonnaise.

The Sun was invited to an exclusive tasting of the new dish to see if it lives up to its reputation.

Maccies fans pay £5.59 for the burger alone and £7.29 as part of a meal, including chips and a drink.

McDonald's is also gearing up to launch two never-before-seen pink desserts and a favorite burger on February 7.

The new items include the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry and Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie.

The KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry mixes soft serve ice cream with Ruby Chocolate-covered KitKat pieces and waffle bites, then topped with a pink raspberry sauce.

The cake is crispy pink puff pastry filled with a creamy white chocolate ganache and raspberry compote.

If you're not a fan of change, there's also a classic KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry.

This is a combination of KitKat milk chocolate pieces and waffle bites and chocolate sauce.

You can pick up the new McFlurry for £2.19, or £1.59 as a mini; the cake costs £1.99.

The popular Big Lekker and the Big Lekker with bacon are also back.

Every time the burgers make a comeback, they are a huge success, with many calling for them to be made permanent.

They include a beef patty, processed cheese made with Emmentaler, tomato, lettuce, onions and the iconic Big Taste sauce.

For those of you looking to upgrade your dinner, you can also wrap the burger with bacon.

They cost £7.69 for the classic and £8.49 with bacon.

Also back are the Mozzarella Dippers, which come in a pack of three or as a sharing box of nine, each covered in breadcrumbs and served with salsa dip.

They cost £2.39 for a pack of three and £6.49 for a share box.
