Taylor Swift has sent local fans wild by declaring: 'Melbourne, you are the love of my life.'

The pop superstar made the comment on Sunday evening during her third sold-out concert as part of her Eras Tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Swift, 34, told the crowd: “A stadium girl is doing the math for you… 96,000 people the first night, 96,000 people the second night. 96,000 people tonight.”

“These are all the biggest shows I've ever played on tour and you've done it three times,” she added.

'The calculation is that it concerns 288,000 people in three nights, Melbourne. You are the love of my life.'

Melbourne returned the love by giving Swift a one-minute ovation.

“That is unforgettable for me, I will never forget it,” stated an emotional Swift.

It is not the first time that Swift has shown her love for Melbourne during this tour.

International Swifties vented on social media after Swift treated Melbourne fans to an extra special surprise song in the form of a mashup of her songs Getaway Car, The Other Side of the Door and August.

“WHAT POSSESSED HER TO DO THIS?” one fan shouted on Twitter.

“Does Taylor owe Australia money or something what is this,” said another.

Fans at Taylor's first Melbourne Cricket Ground concert were also treated to a world-first announcement by the singer that the special edition of The Tortured Poets Department would include a new song called The Bolter.

The outrage comes after a diehard fan miraculously scored a ticket to Swift's Eras Tour concert following an act of goodwill from a punter who had to leave the concert early.

In a video shared to TikTok, one of the thousands of ticketless fans waiting outside the MCG managed to get into the concert thanks to the friendly Swiftie.

The short clip shows stunned fans as the concertgoer sends the card to the fan, before they hug and the woman runs into the venue.

According to the comments, the exchange took place toward the end of the three-hour concert during the show's final Midnights Era.

'Vigilante S**t' can be heard in the background.

With three shows planned for Melbourne this weekend, thousands of fans who had missed out on tickets gathered outside the MCG and sang and danced to Swift's hits.

The international trend has spawned the term 'Taylor gating', despite warnings from the MCG urging fans to only visit the venue if they are ticket holders.

Ahead of the concert on February 6, the venue said there would be 'no activations' at Yarra Park or live screenings of the show, and reminded fans of the rules against drinking and setting up tents, marquees or barbecues.

The following weekend, Swift Mania will hit Sydney, with the pop star performing across four shows from Friday, February 23 to Monday, February 26.
