New Delhi: The 2023 State Assembly Elections were announced in five states of the country namely Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. Telangana Assembly Election 2023: How to Check the Polling Booth

  1. The first step to voting in the elections is knowing your voting booth. If you are unsure about this, you can follow the steps below and find your voting booth.
  2. Firstly, you need to visit the official website of the Election Commission of India, https://eci.gov.in/.
  3. The second step is to find the link that says “know your polling place and official” and click on it.
  4. On the new page that opens on your screen, enter your EPIC number and, before clicking ‘search’, fill in the CAPTCHA code.
  5. The names of your polling stations and voting booth will now be displayed.

What is your EPIC number?

EPIC stands for Electoral Photo Identity Card in digital format. To find your EPIC number, you will need to follow the steps below.

  1. First visit the official website https://voters.eci.gov.in/
  2. Now select the link that says ‘search voters list’; You can find this at the top right of the website
  3. Now enter your state (here, Chhattisgarh) and then select the language
  4. Add your first and last name, and the first and last name of your family member
  5. Now add your gender and date of birth
  6. Select your Assembly constituency and district; enter the CAPTCHA code
  7. After you have entered all this information, click on the ‘search’ button; your details and EPIC number will appear on the screen.

Telangana Election 2023: Documents required to vote

If you want to cast your vote for the Telangana Assembly elections 2023, it is essential to carry a voter ID card. But how can you vote if you don’t have a voter’s card? The general voters can vote without the voter card, by using one of the following documents:

  1. Passport
  2. Aadhaar card
  3. PAN card
  4. Drivers license

And if you still don’t have any of the above documents, you can bring the election forms issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Besides, MNREGA cards, identity cards of central and state government employees and pension cards with photo will also be used as valid identity proof at the polling booths. Apart from this, other ID cards deemed valid by the Electoral Commission to vote in the 2023 parliamentary elections on November 17 include:

  1. Passbooks with photo issued by bank/post office
  2. Smartcard issued by RGI under NPR
  3. Smart Card for health insurance, issued under the regulation of the Ministry of Labor
  4. Pension document with photo
  5. Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs

Before voters go to the polling booth, they must ensure that their name is on the voters’ list. The Election Commission had earlier given the nod to the Photo Voter Slip (PVS) to enable voters to cast their votes and has now underlined that PVS will not be accepted as a standalone identification document for voting.
