Telangana Assembly Election 2023 LIVE Updates: Amid several exit polls suggesting that Congress will have an advantage over the ruling BRS in Telangana, counting of votes polled in the November 30 Assembly elections will resume at 8 am on Sunday, December 3, 2023. The Telangana Assembly ends on January 16, 2024. As per the Election Commission (EC) event schedule, the polling in the state took place on November 30, 2023. The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is seeking a third term in office based on its performance and promises of the party over the past ten years.

According to the India Today-Axis My India exit poll, Congress is all set to form its first government in Telangana. The exit polls of other pollsters who announced their forecast on Thursday also showed that Congress is expected to form the government and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) would fall short of the majority after a decade of ruling India’s youngest state.

A total of 3.17 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to elect legislators to a 119-member Assembly. A total of 2,290 candidates from 109 parties, including national and regional parties, are in the fray. The participants include 221 women and one transgender.
