Although one big name was missing, Willie Mullins' Gaillard Du Mesnil, who came third last year.

This year's race will look different than previous years, with six fewer runners and a new, earlier start time.

You can find everything about the registrations and changes of the National here.

But now the most important tip from Templegate…

Templegate's Grand National 2024 tip

We don't have the all-important Grand National weights yet, but we do have the entries and a solid each-way bet stands out.

Panda Boy comes from Martin Brassil who won the great race in 2006 with Numbersixvalverde.

Only one of his six national runners finished worse than sixth, so he is very reliable – especially in these days of extra places.

Panda Boy follows the route of many Irish horses and has run over obstacles to maintain his handicap.

Numbersixvalverde did the same and the eight-year-old had a very good race when he finished fourth at the Dublin Racing Festival on Saturday.

He looked as if he might win until he was outpaced by half a furlong and then powered on to be just over two lengths clear of the winner.

He finished fifth in the Irish National in April and should sneak in near the bottom of the weights for Aintree.

The bookmakers can't quite figure out yet that Coral puts him in second place at 16-1, but the 22-1 offered by Bet365 is attractive in both cases.
