About a dozen pigs occupied a highway in Minnesota on Friday after a semi truck overturned, bringing traffic to a standstill.

More than three piglets found themselves scattered on I-694 around 7:30 a.m. after the driver towing the semi truck had an accident and caused the vehicle to flip on its side.

The cause of the single-vehicle accident is unknown, the highway is expected to be closed until about 1 p.m. The driver was unharmed.

Several officials in yellow vests were seen keeping a close eye on the pigs they had cornered behind the semi-truck.

The pigs waited calmly behind the vehicle as crews worked to straighten the metal semi-truck after it had been corralled between cars in the roadway, NBC Chicago reported.

According to NBC Chicago, several pigs died in the accident.

State police posted a photo of the dirty pigs snacking on grass while waiting.

Police are still investigating the cause of the incident and are advising motorists to look for alternative routes.
