Mara Justine performed songs made famous by Adele and Janis Joplin when the five finalists performed on The Voice on NBC on Monday.

Host Carson Daly, 50, said at the start of the two-hour live finale that season 24 has been one of the most memorable seasons yet.

“We had the most four-chair changes in Voice history. And for the first time ever, all of our finalists had four chair turns at the Blind Auditions,” Carson revealed.

Each of the five finalists performed one ball and one up-tempo song as they performed for the final time before the voting opened at the end of the show.

Mara competed on behalf of her coach Niall Horan, 30, who previously stole her for his team from her original coach John Legend, 44.

The 21-year-old soulful singer from Galloway, New Jersey sang Adele’s song Turning Tables for her ballad and Niall then said he was proud of her.

“It’s incredible, the growth you’ve shown in this competition. It’s just insane. I really hope that America will not forget this moment when America votes. That was a big, big “voice” moment in my head. I am so proud of you. You’re an incredible singer, an incredible person. I hope you keep winning this thing. You’re amazing,” Niall told her.

Her former coach John, 44, said he was full of regret.

‘It was so impressive and so beautiful. We saw a different side of your voice today. Just hearing that raspy sound in your voice, even if it’s soft and subtle. It was just very beautiful and powerful. I absolutely loved this performance. I enjoyed seeing a different side of you. You just show us everything. I’m so impressed,” John told her.

Mara later returned to the stage for her up-tempo performance, performing the Joplin version of Piece Of My Heart.

“Wow, this room was electrified in the finale by Mara Justine,” Carson said as Mara’s parents William and Linda cheered her on from the front row.

New coach Reba, 68, told Mara she was a “powerhouse” and Carson told Niall that “it was like we pressed pause on the final and went to the Mara Justine concert.”

‘It was absolutely crazy. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Turning Tables was magical, which is to say, from the stratosphere. I couldn’t wait for you to sing this song because I knew you now had the confidence that this was the perfect song for this exact moment. What a moment that was,” Niall said.

Mara sang the Elton Joh song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for her Blind Auditions performance and had all four judges take their turn before choosing John as her coach.

Niall stole her in the knockout round and she earned her spot in the live final with her Playoffs performance of Florence + The Machine’s You’ve Got The Love.

Ruby Leigh, 16, from Foley, Missouri, also impressed during the final as she performed Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds.

“You amaze me every time you step on that stage,” said her coach Reba. “Elvis Presley may have recorded it first, but you rubyed it… You did it like a champ, and the professional that you are.”

“You are so remarkable, I have been a fan since the beginning,” John told the teen. “Your voice has so much power and maturity that it seems like everything is in bold.”

Ruby later returned to perform her ballad, taking on Desperado of the Eagles.

Her performance brought Reba and coach Gwen Stefani, 54, to tears.

“Sometimes you just want to cry on TV… That was so perfect and beautiful, and it’s just fascinating that you’re 16 and you can sing like that,” Gwen said.

Reba told Ruby she had done a “great job.”

‘You know what you can do, and you do it so well. Not many people can do that – well done!,” said Reba.

Huntley, 33, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, for his ballad of Another Love by English singer-songwriter Tom Odell.

“Congratulations on killing it,” his coach Niall said afterwards. “I keep saying it every week, but it’s so hard to do it every week… That was a very emotional and very beautiful version of you.”

Gwen agreed, telling Huntley, “My favorite thing about you is that you are so effortless. It feels like you’re from another time!’

Huntley later returned for his up-tempo song, closing the episode with a rendition of Creed’s Higher.

Higher received renewed interest in 2023 after the Texas Rangers adopted the song as their anthem en route to winning their first World Series title.

‘Don’t sing the first chorus too much, because the lyrics are quite uplifting. You’re just a few songs away from winning this thing and I just want you to really enjoy it. Take me higher. Take me somewhere,” Niall told Huntley during rehearsal.

Huntley rose to the challenge with a big finish and Carson called him a “rock star.”

Gwen praised Huntley for the nuances in his voice, calling him “incredible.”

Niall told Huntley he was proud of him.

‘That was euphoric there. Incredible. Vote for Huntley, people,” Niall said.

Reba’s signer Jacquie Roar, 38, from North Plains, Oregon, started the episode with her up-tempo song and later performed Boston’s More Than A Feeling.

She later returned for her ballad, singing Nights In White Satin by The Moody Blues.

John’s singer Lila Forde, 24, from Seattle, sang The Weight for her uptempo song and Across The Universe for her ballad.

Lila sang Steve Winwood’s Can’t Find My Way Home for her Blind Auditions performance and defeated her challengers in the Battles and Knockouts rounds.

She advanced to the final after covering Joni Mitchell’s song River during the semi-final.

Niall won season 23 of The Voice with Gina Miles, 20, in May in his first season as a coach.

The Voice premiered on NBC in April 2011 as part of the international The Voice franchise, based on the original The Voice of Holland.

Blake Shelton, 47, coached for the first 23 seasons before stepping down before the start of the current season.

The Voice returns Tuesday with the results of the viewer vote and a new champion will be crowned.
