The Weeknd put on quite the show wearing a bold silver face mask in London on Friday night as he kicked off his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

The singer, 33, was stunned by the mirrored hat he wore over a white cap when he took the stage at London Stadium.

He rocked a cargo cream waistcoat that he paired with coordinated pants as he performed his hits to the packed crowd.

The Blinding Lights singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, kept comfortable in a pair of white boots and opted for a matching long jacket.

The Grammy winner completed his performance outfit with a dazzling stud earring.

In the evening, he removed the dramatic mask and held it high in the air for his fans to see.

Beginning the second leg of his Europe and Latin America tour in London, the Save Your Tears singer seemed in high spirits as he put on an incredible show.

It comes as the Canadian musician reflects on the “bumpy” journey of his controversial HBO show The Idol, after HBO aired the season finale on Sunday.

He looked back at the end of the sexually charged show and vowed to continue “pushing the vision” as he shared a number of snaps with co-stars, including Lily-Rose Depp, 24, on his Instagram.

‘The finale. thankful to be sharing this moment with all of you as the season comes to a close. keep pushing the vision no matter how bumpy the journey is,” the Starboy hitmaker wrote in the caption.

He also tagged Depp and director Sam Levinson in the caption and added “Jocelyn Forever” at the end, referring to Depp’s struggling pop star persona.

The star also re-shared a bunch of friends and fans’ photos commemorating the show.

One image saw him and Lily with their heads pressed together as a cameraman filmed from behind.

Another picture saw Johnny Depp’s daughter hugging him. She looked stunning in a flowing white dress while he wore a blue jacket.

Fans critical of the show and its posts quickly responded to the comments, with one writing, “‘Keep pushing the vision, my brother. What vision has this show POSSIBLY pushed?’

“We’re going to pretend we didn’t see that,” added another.

Yet another fan pleaded with the singer, writing, “Stick to making music, not movies or series.”

The show followed Jocelyn, a pop star whose life is turned upside down after an encounter with bizarre nightclub owner Tedros (The Weeknd).

It isn’t long before Tedros moves in with her and takes complete control of her life, much to the protest of her friend and assistant Leia (Rachel Sennott).

In the finale, Jocelyn finally stands up to Tedros and rightfully kicks him out of her life, getting her tour back on track, though in a rather surprising development, she lets him back in later in her life, but on her terms.

Many fans were surprised that the show ended after only five episodes, since when it was first announced in 2021, it was given a six-episode order.

The HBO series – which was co-directed by Levinson, The Weeknd and Reza Fahim – has been heavily criticized and even described as “torture porn,” with much controversy centered on its explicit content.

Abel recently addressed the backlash, stressing that the sex scenes in the show aren’t meant to be “overtly sexy.”

Asked in particular about a particularly graphic scene in episode two, he told GQ magazine, “No. There’s nothing sexy about it. If we use Basic Instinct as a reference, we use Verhoeven.’

“Verhoeven is the king of the ’90s satire thriller – yes, there are moments of sexy in his films, but there are other moments that are very cheesy and hilarious,” he explained.

The Save Your Tears hitmaker added, “However you feel watching that scene, whether it’s awkward, or you feel gross, or you’re embarrassed by the characters.”

“It’s all those emotions that add up: this guy is way over his head, this situation is one he shouldn’t be here in,” he concluded.
