Theo James and wife Ruth Kearney are expecting baby No. 2: Details

Theo James and wife Ruth Kerney “expecting their second baby,” Us weekly can confirm exclusive.

“They are both extremely excited to be parents again,” an exclusive source tells me Us. Kearney, 38, is having a baby girl and is “expected this summer,” the insider adds.

The Irish actress sparked pregnancy speculation in April when she posted a series of snaps to social media from a getaway with James, 38, to Palm Springs, California. In one photo, Kearney wore a yellow slip dress that seemed to show off her growing baby bump.

“Ohhh the cute bump!!!! Congratulations Ruth!! So happy for you xxx,” one fan wrote in the comments section.

The white Lotus star met Kearney while attending Bristol Old Vic Theater School in England. Two years after the couple tied the knot in 2018, James gave fans a glimpse of the wacky way he and Kearney fell in love.

When asked in March 2020 if the two actors’ eyes met as they were “huddling in leotards and pretending to be mice” at the sophisticated theater school, James laughed and told the Evening Standard, “Yes!” He joked that they were “frogs”, adding, “We’ve done all that beast.”

In a serious tone, James described his wife as “very optimistic, thoughtful and funny.” The Divergent actor commented that their relationship “made sense pretty early on.”

James went on to explain that “it’s interesting to be together for so long because we’ve navigated through the very beginning of our careers.”

James – who co-starred with his partner in several episodes of sanditon in 2019 – confessed to the outlet that their job growth “can be difficult at times, but that too [brings] certain strengths [to] a relationship.”

News broke in August 2021 that James and Kearney had welcomed their first child, a daughter. However, the couple did not speak publicly about aging until the following year.

“It definitely changes you in a great way,” James shared In style in May 2022 about paternity. “It’s confusing at first. Especially with your first child, because your whole life changes, but in the end it makes you – certainly for me at least – a much stronger person.”

He revealed that while “you’re still doing the same thing you did before,” once you get older, your priorities shift. “For example, obsessiveness, worrying about X or Y — it calms that kind of outlook on life because it makes you realize that certain things are a little bit more important,” James said.
