Three young children found dead in Bristol home – while woman, 42, is arrested for 'murder'

A 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after three young children were found dead in a Bristo homel.

Avon and Somerset Police Police officers made the tragic discovery after attending a welfare call in Blaise Walk, Sea Mills, at around 12.40am this morning.

The trio of young people were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene, shortly after police arrived.

Police added that their cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

An urgent investigation was launched following the 'heartbreaking' incident.

According to police, the arrested woman is currently in police custody at the hospital.

Neighborhood Chief Inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “This is an incredibly tragic and heartbreaking incident in which three children have sadly lost their lives.

“My sincere condolences go out to the children's loved ones and we will ensure they receive support through our family liaison unit.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the wider community, but officers will remain on scene to reassure anyone who has questions or concerns.

“Residents can expect an increased police presence in the coming days and we thank them for their cooperation during this period.”

The force has also confirmed that they have notified the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to previous police contact.
