TIGER WOODS dropped his club in shock after hitting his shot on the 18th hole of the Genesis Invitational.
The golf legend hasn't played since early December and was showing signs of rust in Los Angeles.
With the green in sight, all Woods had to do was shoot the ball straight in front of him.
But he shook the shot and his effort hit a tree, much to the shock of the Golf Riviera Course fans.
Viewers watching at home were also amused by the mistake, although they were puzzled by his follow-up shot.
Placed directly behind a tree in the rough, Woods had a small gap to find the green, but he found it with precision and left himself a putting opportunity, which he took advantage of to finish one over par.
One fan commented on the shaft saying, “It makes me feel better about my own golf game.”
Another added: “Next shot though was absolutely insane…ball underfoot in deep rough, tiny window between two trees. He then hits the shot and goes on the green to get a putt for par .”
And a third wrote: “Show his next shot. Spectacular!”
Woods, 48, put the blunder down to a back spasm but happily admitted it was a shank.

He said, “Oh, I definitely shaved it. My back spasmed through the last few holes and was stuck.
“I came down and it wasn't moving and I presented Hosel first.”
