Tony Romo is apparently ready Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift to marry.
During the CBS broadcast of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game on Sunday, December 10, Romo pointed to the 33-year-old singer cheering on Kelce from a box at Arrowhead Stadium. “As you can see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, is in the audience,” Romo, 43, told viewers.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback laughed off his mistake. “I’m sorry, girlfriend,” he said.
“Not yet,” fellow commentator Jim Nantz added. A moment later, Nantz joked, “You don’t know something we don’t know, do you?”
The Swifties immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their excitement. “TONY ROMO CALLS TAYLOR’S WIFE TRAVIS I SCRAMEEEEEDDDDDDD,” one user wrote while another joked, “Tony Romo just married Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on national TV.”
A third person added, “Whoaaaaa, go easy on Tony Romo, don’t get them married off yet!! 🤣🤣🤣.”
Sunday’s game marked Swift’s sixth Chiefs game this season and comes just a week after she last saw Kelce, 34, play against the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 3. That game marked the first time the team lost with Swift present.
The latest Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills came just a few days after Swift first spoke about her romance with the tight end. She clarified that they were in a committed relationship by the time she attended her first competition in September.
“This all started when Travis adorably confused me on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said in her TIME Profile Person of the Year, referencing the time Kelce complained about not meeting her during the Eras Tour in July.
She continued, “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I guess some people think they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to initiate a first date.”
Swift noted that she will continue to show up at soccer games whenever she can to support her friend. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him doing what he loves, that we stand up for each other, that there are other people there and we don’t care,” she explained.
