Tragic final moments of girl, 16, killed in horror crash during 'road trip of a lifetime' to Taylor Swift concert

A YOUNG girl was tragically killed in a horror accident on her way to a Taylor Swift concert.

The 16-year-old was in a car with her mother and a younger sister, 10, when the vehicle collided with an oncoming truck.

The fatal accident happened just 30 kilometers northeast of Dubbo, Australia on Thursday.

Mieka Pokarier died at the scene while her sister, Freya Pokarier, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital.

She remains in critical condition in an induced coma.

The girls' mother, Kim Litchfield, was the driving her daughters to Melbourne in their SUV to attend Taylor Swift's concert.

The pop star started the Australian leg of her world tour on Friday with 96,000 fans in attendance.

The trip would be their “trip of a lifetime” as they planned to see Swift in both Melbourne and Sydney.

But tragedy ended their journey when they collided head-on with the semi-trailer.

Mieka was sitting in the passenger seat while her sister was in the backseat when the accident occurred.

Miekas iPad survived the trip unnoticed, revealing that the excited teen was listening to Swift's “All of the Girls You Loved Before” when the horror beaten.

Mieka tragically died, while her sister suffered serious injuries.

The girls' mother was treated by paramedics and both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Dubbo Hospital.

Meanwhile, Freya is fighting for her life with her father and older sister – who flew from the Gold Coast – at her bedside.

The young girl suffered a brain injury, damaged pelvis and a broken leg, according to the sisters' godmother, Karleigh Fox.

She said, 'We'll keep it Our girl she will remain in an induced coma for a few more days to give her body the chance to remain still and hopefully recover as much as possible.

“We're playing her favorite Taylor Swift album, 1989 (Taylor's version)repeats in her room and tells her about the merchandise we see people buying online.”

Mieka and Freya's father, Peter Pokarier, has shared his grief in a Facebook after.

He wrote: “That's my baby who died.”

The grieving father also shared a fundraiser for the family, which raised more than £10,000 in 24 hours.

After the heartbreaking newstributes from friends have poured in on social media.

Cheyenne Craige wrote: “Mieka, oh what a beacon of light you were.

“I never thought I'd have to imagine going to your house and not having you fast asleep in your bed or having to tell you to hurry up or we'll leave you behind.

“You deserved to live for so many more years, but unfortunately you were taken far too soon.

“I love you Mieka, please come back soon. I miss you now, and forever.”

Mieka and Freya had both been members of the Gold Coast Youth Theater Academy.

The Academy's owners posted their condolences on Facebook, saying: “This one is very special and important to us. All four children in this family were Kellie's students at one time or another.

“Mother and daughters go on the trip of a lifetime to see their idol Tay Tay, but their lives are turned upside down in an instant.

“Us hearts us [sic] pain today, so we can't imagine how this family is feeling.”

Another friend, Simone Medland, said she regrets not being able to fulfill all her wishes future plan together.

She wrote: “Thank you for the nights we stayed up talking about everything, watching movies, dancing and playing Roblox together until 4am, thank you for being my best friend.

“I love our little friendship, making all those corny TikToks for each other, writing letters to each other, having silly little jokes that were never funny but made us laugh so hard.”

The Police has launched an investigation into the details of the incident.
