Nowadays the station is half finished in Stockholm, Sweden abandoned, damaged and with a downright dystopian atmosphere.

One theory as to why it has remained untouched says that the builders working on the station were forced to quit their jobs after witnessing a number of horrors after finding clues left nearby.

The most important horror The story comes from a Swedish legend that focuses on the Silverpilen train – better known in English as the Silver Arrow.

It goes back to the 1960s, when the Stockholm metro packed eight large trains made purely of aluminum.

This was normal in Sweden, but when they got to the station they were left in their original silver color and not painted green like all the other metro cars in Stockholm.

They decided to leave the carriages bare, which not only made them stand out, but also fueled decades of rumors.

Adding to the legend was that the trains were left in almost pristine condition every night.

Most other trains were covered in graffiti or covered in advertisements, but the Silver Arrows were spotless.

This led locals to say that the only way the trains could remain so perfect was because it was used exclusively by ghosts.

A theory that ensured that they were almost never used by the local population.

ONLY THE DEAD STAND OUT

According to one of the main stories associated with the station, “only the dead get off at Kymlinge”.

This is because many believe that once you board the Silver Arrow, you will never return as the same person.

It is said that the train becomes stuck in an infinite time loop and continues to travel down the track forever while the entire carriage wastes away.

In another version the train stops once a year and the travelers may leave, but they have a chilling new life.

After a year on board, everyone who boarded the train has slowly become ghosts and zombie-like creatures that eventually invade the local forests and torment anyone they see.

THE MOST FEARING STORY

According to locals in the area, the most terrifying story about the Silver Arrow train centers on a young woman returning home after a hectic night of partying.

It is said that she hops aboard an old, silver train in the pitch-black night and is greeted by some creepy-looking fellow travelers.

As the train approaches the woman's stop, it flies straight past and continues at high speed until it reaches Kymlinge.

At this point the girl would be in a state of panic as the other passengers float seamlessly through the walls of the train as she realizes she has been on a ghost train the entire time.

The already terrifying story ends in tragic circumstances, as depending on which version is passed on to you, the girl is found dead on the train or gone mad while wandering the forests of Ursvik.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

The truth of the Silver Arrow and Kymlinge is a much simpler story.

It was thought that Stockholm was using the new silver trains as test cars to see if the public preferred simple trains or colored and marked trains.

The local transportation agency thought it would be much cheaper to use empty cars without having to paint and mark them.

As for Kymlinge Station, it is not technically abandoned, just indefinitely delayed in its construction.

The finishing touches were never put in place as Stockholm entered a period of extreme suburbanization.

So in an effort to preserve Kymlinge's natural beauty, construction was halted and plans for the station were scrapped.
