TV VIEWERS have been left in the lurch after a popular streaming service selected almost a dozen new titles.
“Half of my watchlist has disappeared in the last few days,” complained one viewer on X (formerly Twitter).
“What's going on, why are you removing so much brand new content?”
According to Deadline, Paramount+ has canceled nine recently added shows, including:
- The burning girls
- A night
- The killer kind
- The serial killer's wife
- The doll factory
- The Flatshare
- Chemistry of death
- Accused (in Great Britain and Ireland)
- Quantum Leap (in the UK and Ireland)

In a memo to staff last week, executives explained that the streamer is now focusing on “Hollywood franchises, films and series that have broad global appeal,” TechRadar reported.

Paramount's move is not new or unique.
Other streamers regularly remove original content from their platforms, which analysts say is a money-saving tactic.
It means companies can avoid having to pay residuals if shows can't be watched again and again.
Netflix canceled several original shows in December, in addition to Disney+, which also removed several original series, including Willow, Y: The Last Man and Pistol.
Gone are the days when viewers were confident they could finish and enjoy a series they started.
“Goddammit, this really feels like the end of television. No more room for anything original or different,” complained another viewer on X.
A third person tweeted: “This is why we all left cable. High prices for multiple bundles just to get three to five good shows and a truckload of c**p.
“People want creative originals, shows that aren't hampered by what advertisers say is safe.”
