UP Shocker: Baby Dies After Drunk Dad Throws Him On The Floor To Stop Crying
Ravi Maurya allegedly threw his son to the ground while he was drunk to prevent the child from crying from hunger, police said.
Kaushambi (UP) In a shocking incident of alcohol-fueled rage, a month-and-a-half-old baby died after his drunk father threw him to the ground to keep him from crying, officials said Friday.
According to PTI news agency, the accused, identified as 25-year-old Ravi Maurya, allegedly threw his young son to the ground in a drunken state to prevent the child from crying from hunger.
The incident took place on Thursday evening in the village of Kesariya in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
A senior police official gave details and said that Maurya married Muskan about a year ago, but the couple were not on good terms and regularly argued over Maurya’s alcoholism.
“About 15 days ago another heated argument broke out between them and Muskan went to her aunt’s house. Muskan refused to return with him and Maurya forcibly returned his son to his home,” SHO (Saini) Subhash Chandra told PTI.
The officer said Maurya returned home in a drunken state on Thursday and allegedly slammed his hungry and crying infant son to the ground, killing the baby on the spot as Maurya fled the scene.
Soon, Muskan received information about the incident, rushed to the house and broke down the door with the help of villagers and later informed the police, according to the SHO.
He said that on the basis of Muskan’s complaint, the police have reported her husband’s murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the child’s body has been sent for autopsy.
The officer said Maurya is still in hiding and a hunt has been launched to catch him as soon as possible.
“Further investigations are underway,” he said.
Man stabs wife and 5-month-old daughter to death
In a similar incident, police said on Thursday that a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district allegedly killed his wife, her lover and five-month-old daughter by stabbing them to death.
According to police, Pinki alias Radha, 35, her lover, identified as 28-year-old Satyendra Shakya, and her 5-month-old daughter, were allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, Manoj Jatav, in the district’s Tudmura village late on Wednesday night. after they tried to enter Jatav’s house.
The victims, Pinki and Satyendra Shakya, along with the 5-month-old toddler girl, were beaten by Jatav and later stabbed to death on Wednesday night after they violently tried to enter his house, Police Superintendent Kunwar Anupam Singh said, according to an APK report.
The senior officer said the suspect, Manoj Jatav, was arrested and revealed during interrogation that he and Pinki were married for 14 years before she cheated on him and eloped with her lover, Satyendra Shakya, a resident of Mainpuri.
