A major fire broke out at a mattress factory in Gangyal industrial area of Jammu district on Saturday afternoon.
Jammu News: A massive fire broke out at a mattress factory in Gangyal district of Jammu on Saturday afternoon. According to reports, a major blaze erupted at the Nindiya mattress factory in Gangyal industrial area of Jammu district, soon engulfing the entire building in towering flames.
Images of the fire making the rounds on social media platforms showed the towering flames and plumes of thick black smoke billowing from the factory building.

There were no casualties in the incident, officials said.
Firefighters responded too late?
Local media reports quoting some factory workers attributed the spread of the fire to the “late response” of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, fire brigade and emergency services. They claimed that firefighters arrived on the scene at around 2:30 pm and the fire truck had no water, after which they had to wait for another vehicle to arrive to extinguish the flames, which had then spread to the entire property.
The factory is located in the Shankar colony area of Gangyal.
Officials said the fire broke out around 2:15 p.m. and firefighters and other rescue personnel arrived on the scene minutes after the incident was reported.
An official said fire and police personnel have reached the spot and the fire has been brought under control. No injuries or casualties were reported in the fire incident.
According to reports, the factory also served as a warehouse for Nindiya mattresses and the finishing work was going well. Properties worth millions of rupees also went up in smoke in the massive inferno.
Police said the exact cause of the fire is being determined and investigations have been launched to detect any foul play.
More details are expected, they said.
Earlier, in November, a major fire had broken out at another factory in Gangyal.
Gangyal is a renowned industrial area in the Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir and is home to several important industries from different sectors.
