I tried a viral carpet cleaning trick with a Walmart purchase – it works wonders

A CLEANING pro has revived an old-fashioned hack that will leave your carpet looking like new.

All you need is soap, water, and an affordable purchase from Walmart.

TikToker Jessy Luna (@thejessyluna) said she “had” to try the viral carpet cleaning trick.

“I tried the mop carpet hack,” she wrote at the beginning of her video.

Jessy poured floor cleaning into her easy-to-wring spin mop and bucket.

Walmart sells an O-Cedar bucket system for $28.

Jessy wrings out the mop and then presses the damp microfiber head onto the carpet.

The technology creates vacuum lines without vacuuming.

At the end of her cleaning session, Jessy threw the mop water – which had turned brown – into the bathtub.

Jessy’s video was viewed more than 3.8 million times and generated more than 920 comments from viewers.

Many people said her hack was a popular carpet cleaning technique in the ’90s.

“This is nothing NEW, we did this in the 90s and swept the carpet because we didn’t have a vacuum,” said one.

Others said it was an old family secret.

“My grandma used to mop her carpet,” wrote a second.

“My husband’s 99 year old grandma does this and I thought it was crazy at first but it works,” a third posted.

“My mother-in-law has been doing this for 70 years,” a fourth added.
