New Delhi: Virat Kohli is perhaps the richest cricketer in the world and has the financial stability to do almost anything he wishes. But the former Indian captain on Monday decided to travel from Kolkata in an economy class flight during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India.

The video of Kohli taking a seat in the economy class of his flight has gone viral on social media.

Kohli was dressed in casual clothes and with a cap and mask to hide his face, he sat quietly, while the passengers nearby recognized him, and took out their mobile phones to catch a glimpse of the big man .

This is not the first time we have seen Kohli give up his luxurious business class seat and decide to travel in economy. During the 2022 T20 World Cup in November last year, King Kohli along with head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma reportedly gave away their business class tickets to the team’s pacers as they toil more than any other player and get more legroom to deserve.

So far, the RCB man has a total of 79 international centuries to his name. He occupies the second position in the list of leading run-getters with 543 runs so far in the World Cup.

India, on the other hand, has qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup and has also consolidated its first position in the standings with 16 points. The Men in Blue are the only team undefeated in the tournament so far. The host nations meet the Netherlands in their final league match before gearing up for the business end of the competition.
