'Virat Kohli's footwork and body movement are great': Rajat Patidar ahead of the second Test against England

Rajat Patidar is likely to feature in the second Test match against England.

New Delhi: India's young batsman Rajat Patidar got a maiden call-up in the Test squad against England and now there are chances that the batsman will play his debut match in the 2nd Test as Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul are out of the second clash due to injuries.

BCCI has announced their replacements as Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar. This is the first Test call-up for Sarfaraz, the batsman has been in deadly form in the Ranji Trophy.

While talking to BCCI, Rajat Patidar revealed that he always tries to follow Kohli; his footwork and body moments while playing ball are great.

“I always observe Virat Kohli. His footwork and body movement are great. I always try to follow him,” Rajat Patidar said on BCCI TV.

Patidar also revealed how Rohit Sharma boosted his confidence.

“I have spoken to Rohit Bhai during this tour, it has boosted my confidence. I watch how he handles field position.”

The Madhya Pradesh batsman is yet to make his debut in the longest format of the game and has represented India in 1 ODI so far, playing against South Africa in 2023.
