It’s time to celebrate the holidays indoors Virgin river – and while things may be happier, there’s still plenty of drama.

Virgin river premiered in 2019 and follows nurse Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) as she searches for a fresh start after her husband’s death. She moves from Los Angeles to a remote town in Northern California on a whim and is surprised by what – and who – she finds.
After Netflix dropped Part 1 of Season 5 in September, the streaming service released the second half of Season 5 on Wednesday, November 29, allowing viewers to once again enjoy two additional Christmas-themed episodes of the hit romantic drama.
While fans can certainly expect a lighter tone in Part 2 of Season 5, the holidays are easier for some characters than others. Martin Hendersonin particular, may portray a less burdened side of Jack, who is on a quest to help Mel find her biological father while simultaneously trying to reunite his estranged parents for the holidays.
Elsewhere, babies are born, pregnancies are revealed, relationships continue to blossom and even old flames are rekindled. In true Virgin River fashion, however, things can only be joyful for a limited time.

Mel meets her father
After connecting the dots next to Jack, Mel tracks down her father, whose name turns out to be Everett Reid, at his cabin in Virgin River. However, things go wrong when he claims he’s not the man she’s looking for, despite owning the same trophy that Mel saw her father holding in an old photo.
At the end of episode 12, the man shows up at Mel’s house to confess his true identity.
Charmaine finally gives birth
Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) shows up at the clinic with contractions. After her water breaks, Mel gives birth to her twins, but not before discovering that Calvin (David Cubitt) is their biological father.
Brie and Dan still have sparks
When Mike (Marco Grazzini) is called to work, Brie (Zibby Allen) runs into ex-boyfriend Dan (Ben Hollingsworth) during the city’s holiday talent show. The pair have an emotionally charged conversation about their new relationships, while discussing the more uncomfortable elements of their breakup.
The exes meet again a few days later and confess how difficult it is to see each other move on. They realize they are standing under the mistletoe for seconds before they are interrupted by Jack, but their longing looks indicate that their romantic story may not be over yet.
Lizzie’s mother discovers her daughter is pregnant
Lizzie’s (Sarah Dugdale) mom Deidre (Debbie Podowski) accidentally learns that she and Denny (Kai Bradbury) are expecting a child together. Although initially hesitant, she agrees to support Lizzie in becoming a mother – as long as she doesn’t have to be called “Grandma.” Lizzie and Denny later reveal the sex of their baby: a girl.
Cameron’s ex is back
Camerons (Mark Ghanime) ex-fiancée Michelle shows up in Virgin River to apologize for their divorce – and reveal she’s been sober for six months. As she tries to reconcile their romance and build a life together, Cameron tells her that his heart belongs to Muriel (Teryl Rotherj).
Jack’s family drama
Jack and Mel’s families are supposed to get together to enjoy Christmas together, but Jack’s father refuses to comply, claiming he can’t see how Jack’s mother is “getting on” with her new boyfriend Javier, with whom she plans to move in with him afterwards. the holiday.
After Jack and Brie make a plea for a happy holiday, they all agree to spend Christmas together.
Ecclesiastes reaches a relationship milestone
Ecclesiastes (Colin Lawrence) Kaia accidentally tells (Kandyse McClure) that he loves her after taking an icy dip in the lake. Although she doesn’t say the words to him, she does take a job as Virgin River’s new fire chief, which will keep her in the town forever.
