Snack fans in Britain are devastated to discover that a popular Walkers flavor dubbed the 'best bar snack ever' will not be making a comeback.

Despite being scrapped a number of years ago, Smiths Cheese Moments are so missed that the Brits even set up a Facebook group to get them back on the shelves.

There is also a petition with almost 5,000 signatures, stressing that it is 'time for this king of snacks to return'.

The beloved chips came in a similar retro-style packaging as Bacon Fries and Scampi Fries, two other popular choices.

Cheese Moments, however, have a crispy exterior and a soft cheesy center — a flavor that fans claim is “the best thing since sliced ​​bread.”

Unfortunately, the fresh-faced giant has announced that the fan favorite won't be returning anytime soon.

They revealed: 'Hi there! Sorry to disappoint you, but we are no longer making Cheese Moments.

An X user (formerly known as Twitter) wrote: 'Shocked to find out that Smiths Cheese Moments have been discontinued! I can't believe it, I'm absolutely desperate!'

Another wrote: '@walkers_crisps Are you bringing back Smiths Cheese Moments? I heard a rumor and I've been thinking about these chips for years.”

However, the brand responded: “I'm afraid there isn't a big comeback on the horizon, but we're keeping our options open.”

Another angry fan said: '@walkers_crisps are there any plans to bring back Cheese Moments?

'They were literally the best crisps in the Smiths category, as delicious as the scampi and bacon are, the cheese crisps surpassed them not just for me but for many people. I don't understand why it was discontinued.”

Walkers explained: “Sorry Richie, they just didn't seem to be popular at the time. There are currently no comebacks planned, but you never know what the future will bring.'

A Brit who signed the petition wrote: 'The best things since sliced ​​bread. Feel cheated that the other flavors are still available and these beauties are not. Bring back the cheese moments'.

Facebook groups titled: 'Bring back Cheese Moments' and 'Cheese Flavored Moments Appreciation Society' have a combined 3,000 members.

The chips also proved popular among a certain group of snackers: pub visitors.

Those who missed the cheese snacks wrote, “They were the best snack ever and you could never eat just one bag at a time” and “They are my favorite of all the snacks.”

“I've asked for them in every pub I've been to and got a blank look, so sad.”

Another joked: 'For God's sake, bring back Smiths Cheese Moments. I've been without it long enough… those bad boys need to grace our pubs again'.

However, it's not the only popular flavor that chip lovers are hoping will make a return.

It comes after the brand revealed they were dumping their popular beef and onion flavor in November last year.

The crunchy giant confirmed to a fan that the flavor had been discontinued on X, formerly known as Twitter, much to the dismay of many.

Fans have also called for the restoration of the Worcester sauce flavour, but it too will not be returning to supermarket shelves any time soon after it was discontinued.
