'Get the taste buds going' fans shout as Walkers launches two new flavours

SHOPPERS are excited about two new Walkers crisp flavors after they were spotted on supermarket shelves.

The brand has previously launched several flavors of crisps – Pigs in Blankets, Christmas Pudding and vegan versions of their classics – but this release promises an extraordinary experience.

Walkers has finally unveiled their Mature Cheddar and Chilli Chutney Flavored Potato Crisps – a revamped take on their favorite cheese and onion flavored potato chips.

And it's hitting shelves with the crushed sea salt and black peppercorn flavor that fans love.

Both are newly conceptualized fusions that add an extra layer of class to otherwise ordinary ingredients.

Walkers senior marketing director Wayne Newton said: “We know consumers continue to look for premium products to treat themselves, despite the current economic challenges.

“With the launch of these new products we wanted to take the classic favorite flavors of cheese and salt and add a modern twist with the addition of chilli chutney and black peppercorns to offer something different.

“Not only will this allow us to attract a broader audience to the brand, but our NPD will also support retailers in maximizing sales around sharing opportunities, offering much-loved flavors that are sure to be a hit with shoppers .”

At just £1 per 40g bag, or £2.50 for a 150g bag, these crisps are an absolute bargain.

And many satisfied customers have been happy since they came to market.

An eagle-eyed shopper quickly shared the find on the Ultimate Food & Snack Finds UK Facebook group.

The post has since racked up hundreds of likes and dozens of comments from avid Walkers fans.

One user wrote: “I like sea salt or ground pepper just to get the taste buds going”

Another said: “Love the cheddar cheese, you love it, eat a whole pack if you're not careful.”

While a third added: “The cheddar and chilli chutney is tasty.”

This isn't the first time customers have loved the release of new Walkers flavours.

Earlier this year, Walkers released three new vegan limited edition flavors to help chip lovers get through Veganuary.

Shoppers can now get Vegan Flame Grilled Steak, Vegan BBQ Pork Ribs and Vegan Grilled Cheese Toastie chips in supermarkets.

All three new incredible vegan flavors will be sold in stores in multipacks.

Although the news also comes just weeks after Walkers axed one of their more controversial flavors.

Walkers has reluctantly confirmed that the Marmite flavor has been discontinued.

A Walkers spokesperson previously told the Sun that by discontinuing the flavor they hope to pave the way for new flavors in the future.

They said: “We are very sorry to disappoint fans of Walkers Marmite flavored crisps with this news.”

“We know many chip lovers will be unhappy to see the taste of these Walkers disappear.”

“This change will allow us to focus our efforts on making more of the flavors that chip fans love most.”

Often a flavor is discontinued due to poor sales, but in this case it seems like Walkers had to make room to unveil new flavors.
