SIX people have been injured after a falling tree crashed into a bus and van in high winds.

The horror unfolded in West Sussex today as three people were rushed to hospital.

Pictures from the scene show a bus with a broken windscreen and windows on Guildford Road in Horsham.

An adult van was also seen with a collapsed front end and broken windows.

Photos taken just after the tree fell showed it resting in one of the windows of the bus.

The strong wind is blamed for the tree falling.

Metrobus operations director Gordon Frost said: “High winds caused a tree to fall on a moving vehicle at Farthings Hill, Horsham.”

The road is reportedly closed while firefighters clear the area.

It comes as the With office warned that snow would fall fall today in parts of Britain.
