It now costs just €6.29 for a single mattress cover, €7.69 for a double size or just €9.09 for a king size mattress.

It is easy to maintain and amazingly machine washable, meaning it is suitable for everyone.

Silentnight's favorite is available to shoppers both in-store and online while supplies last.

Satisfied shoppers who are already taking advantage of the great winter discount were full of praise for the cover.

One said: I bought one on sale last year. I used it this winter, it's fantastic.”

A second wrote: “It retains heat really well. Very soft and cosy. Keeps my bed nice and warm and saves me having the heat on.”

As another said: “Ooo, we gotta get ours!” to her friend under a promotional post on Facebook.

Others called the product “amazing” and said it “provides a luxuriously warm feeling, ready for sleep.”

But one smart shopper was already thinking about the summer months as temperatures rise.

They said, “I need the opposite that will make you feel cool in bed.”

Tesco, Asda, Boots and Amazon also sell the popular product.

Silentnight is generally regarded as the leader in the fun covers market.

Recently, shoppers flocked to their stores to pick up another gadget perfect for keeping you warm at night, at no extra cost.

The Silentnight self-heating mattress topper retails for £49.99 and has been dubbed a “saviour” for these cold winter days.

Or if you want to expand your winter wardrobe, look for a scarf to keep your neck cozy on the high street.

The Heattech Lined Padded Scarf from retailer Uniqlo is a must-have for the coming colder season and costs € 19.90.

The winter essential, which can be purchased in-store or online, comes in a range of colours, including black, cream and khaki.

Another handy €7 tool could save households hundreds of euros on their energy bills this winter.

A way to keep warm without spending a small fortune on your electricity bill has excited shoppers at Argos.

Delighted shoppers say it helped them 'immediately feel the difference'.

The price of Argos' Home Thermal Door Curtain, which is made from 100 per cent polyester, has been reduced from £25 to just £12.50.

As temperatures have dropped in recent weeks, many of us are likely to leave the heating on for longer, which combined with the January energy price rise means our bills will be higher.

But new bank payments are on their way to thousands of households specifically to help cover rising winter costs, such as cold weather payments and the Warm Home Discount.

How to stay warm cheaper this winter

Staying warm this winter doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, as there are plenty of great alternatives to waking up the radiators and spending money on rising heating costs.

Buy a hot water bottle to keep you warm. You can get them in many different shapes and sizes to suit every type of person.

They are always ideal for a no-cost way to stay warm as all you need is hot water.

But if you have a few spare bucks and want to invest in a long-term solution for the cold, consider buying an electric blanket.

They're also a great way to stay warm and most cost about 2 cents per hour to run.

However, do not forget about preventive measures.

Consider making your home draft-free and sealing your windows to prevent cold air from entering.

Prices for drafts in most stores do not include the starting amount from a fiver, but a thick blanket rolled up next to a problematic door will work just as well.

Seal drafty windows with easy-to-use weather stripping. Prices for these start at €1.99 and can save up to €70 on your energy bill.

Attic insulation is also very important as it can prevent heat from escaping, reducing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builders' merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.

The Sun asked home insulation and heating expert and LoftZone chief executive Dave Raval for advice on keeping energy bills low and home temperatures high.

Dave said: “There are lots of things that everyone could do in their own home that are very simple and cheap to help save on your heating bills.

“The best energy savings is the energy you don't use, so looking at where heat can escape is crucial!”
