Passenger left horrified after woman brushed her teeth in her seat on a 14-hour flight — and spat into a cup left on her tray (even though the toilets were clear)

A woman has been left horrified by airline passengers after brushing her teeth in her seat during a 14-hour flight and then spitting into a cup.

A spectator rose Reddit to complain after witnessing poor travel etiquette on a 14 hour flight to London.

Oral hygiene is, of course, essential and the people on board would no doubt have minded if she had taken the opportunity to clean her gnats if she hadn’t done so in her own seat.

What’s worse, according to an anonymous traveler sitting next to her, the toilets were only three rows in front – and they were free.

User anyiar0cks took to Reddit to share their horror on the PassengerShaming thread and described the ordeal in detail.

They wrote, “Girl next to me brushed her teeth from her chair, spat into a cup, shook the toothbrush in the air to dry it out, and kept the cup there for four hours.”

Continuing the story, they continued, “So I was on a 14 hour flight to London. An Australian couple sat next to me.

“I fall asleep and wake up to the girl brushing her teeth from her chair?! Then she spat into a cup, shook the toothbrush in the air to dry it out, and kept the cup there for 4 hours.

‘The toilets were 3 rows in front of us. (and were free).’

Etiquette in public transportation is a hotly debated topic, especially on airplanes where space and ventilation are limited.

A traveler sparked an argument after she complained about a fellow passenger’s “justifiable and selfish” behavior on a flight.

The woman snapped a photo of a fellow passenger sitting in front of her painting her nails, causing the strong smell of the nail polish to fill the cabin.

While a small minority saw no problem with the woman using the three-hour flight to paint and dry her nails, most were outraged by the “rude” and “inconsiderate” behavior.

The flyer took out her frustrations online saying she was asked by other passengers to get rid of the nail polish, but she refused.

“The flight attendant asked her after four of us asked her to stop and she didn’t because by the time the flight attendant got involved she was doing the top coat,” she said in a Reddit post.

She admitted she didn’t ask the woman to stop doing her nails jokingly, “I did the British thing and stared at the back of her head and tutted loudly until she finally put it away.”

Hundreds were shocked by the woman’s “dare” to give herself a manicure without thinking about the smell it would cause.

“It’s people like this that make me realize how overly thoughtful I am. My brain cannot comprehend this level of entitlement and selfishness,” one user wrote.

“RIP everyone’s nose,” another laughed, and a third said, “This is psychopathic behavior.”

“I literally would have snatched that up and thrown it in the toilet. I can’t stand that in a well-ventilated house,’ replied a fourth.

Others wondered how she got the substances through security.

“How is nail polish and nail polish remover allowed in a hand luggage??? Both are highly flammable and both give off ridiculous amounts of fumes,” one person asked.

In Australia, Virgin flights allow passengers to carry nail polish and nail polish remover in hand luggage, but use on board the aircraft is strictly prohibited.

Most airlines do not have an official policy on the use of nail polish.
