Xbox fans are crying in disbelief because a recent release with a score of 91 will soon be free

XBOX recently held an official podcast with some new announcements for Xbox players.

One of the most surprising revelations was that one of the biggest hits of 2023 is coming to the platform for free.

It was believed that the game, which sold for up to $100/£100, would never appear on subscription services.

Following Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it seems like anything is possible.

Diablo 4 has a huge score of 91 on aggregated review site Metacritic, and players loved the dungeon-crawling action.

Players worked tirelessly to level up their characters, take on tough bosses and explore labyrinths alone and with friends.

The blurb for Diablo 4 reads: “Join the battle for Sanctuary in Diablo 4, the ultimate action RPG adventure.

“Experience the critically acclaimed campaign and new seasonal content.”

Diablo 4 goes through several seasons where everyone goes back to basics, so you never feel like you're being left behind.

It will be available from Thursday March 28, 2024, and it will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Diablo 4 is free to play for anyone who subscribes to Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Xbox Game Pass

Ultimate.

It is credited with reviving the series which has not appeared since 2012.

The game also came under fire for the numerous and expensive microtransactions it contains despite its high asking price.
