The British shop giant Co-op still experiences serious disruptions of a cyber attack, in which some stores are unable to supplement selected products thanks to critical logistics systems that are kept offline in the midst of the fear that the hackers still have access to the networks of the company, The record Reports.
Co-op has spent the past two weeks with attackers by closing IT systems – And thereby there has been “significant disruption” for the activities. Co-op’s CEO confirmed That a “limited amount of customer data” was accessible to criminals and that the organization works to fully understand the impact of the attack.
“As previously communicated, we have established that the cyber criminals had access to a limited number of member data. This is of course extremely painful for our colleagues and members, and I am very sorry that this has happened. We acknowledge the importance of data protection and take our obligations to you and our regulators seriously, in particular as a member of the members.
Persistent hackers
Deliveries of the large depots of co-op were reportedly far below 20% of their normal capacity, with the serious disturbances that these attacks can cause.
“All our stores are open and act and we now deliver to all our stores, streams in a raised level of fresh, cooled and frozen products alongside cupboard supplies,” a spokesperson confirmed to the record.
“Some of our stores may not have all their usual products available and we are sorry if this is the case for the members of our members and customers in their local store. We work around the clock to reduce disruption and are satisfied [to] have resumed the delivery of stock to our shelves, “they added.
The nature of the attack has yet to be revealed, although it comes alongside a similar incident for another retailer, M&S, who has suffered a malfunction that is probably linked to ScatteredSpider Ransomware.
