How We Choose Anti-Prime Day Deals
Many of us here at CNET have been covering shopping events for more than five years, including Black Friday, Prime Day, Memorial Day and countless other shopping events. In that time, we’ve learned how to spot the best deals in a sea of thousands of superficial offers and scams, and we only show you the best deals from trusted retailers.
We look for real discounts, quality reviews, and remaining sales time when choosing laptop deals to show you. We have a team of dedicated experts who have tested hundreds of smart home devices to ensure we only bring you the best of the best.
- Real discounts mean real savings. We check the price history of products listed as on sale so we know when it’s a case of an inflated list price rather than a real discount.
- Quality reviews and testing are super important for any product and especially when it comes to the laptop you are going to use every day. A discount is not worth it if it results in a sub-par product experience, no matter how much you saved.
- The remaining sale time is also important. Some deals are short-lived or limited in stock. If that’s the case, we’ll let you know in advance so you don’t come back to the deal later and be disappointed.
