Customers of the Global Semiconductor Giant Broadcom leaked their sensitive data on the Dark Web after a two-step Supply Chain attack. Apparently a company called Business Systems House (BSH), a service provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) from the Middle East, has a ransomware Attack in September 2024, in which a group known as El Dorado (later renamed Blackklock), stolen his files.
This company is a Payroll Company ADP business partner who in turn worked with Broadcom. In fact, the chip giant was busy changing payroll providers when the incident happened, which means that it almost ignited that bullet.
In December 2024, however, the two companies discovered the stolen data on the internet. “Because the data taken by the criminal actor, were in an unstructured format, definitively determine which employees were affected and for each employee, which data fields were announced, was a long process for BSH/ADP, and this information was not made available to Broadcom until May 12, 2025,” was explained.
El Dorado or Blackklock
According to The registerwho broke the story for the first time, the attackers have removed the following information:
- National ID figures
- National Health Insurance ID figures
- Health insurance/ID figures
- Financial account numbers
- Dates
- Salary data
- Employment termination date
- Personal e -mail addresses
- Personal Phone numbers
- Home addresses
Broadcom insisted on everyone to enter into MFA And all other security institutions that offer their financial institutions. Moreover, it warned users to check their financial data.
You will be forgiven because you don’t know who El Dorado is. It is a relatively new ransomware operation that comes up in March 2024, and has already been renamed Blacklock. The files from Broadcom have also been posted on the BlackKlock site. The group reportedly consists of Russian -speaking individuals.
Broadcom serves a diverse range of customers in various industries, including technology, finances, healthcare and telecommunications. Include some of the biggest names Apple” SamsungCisco, British Airways and many others. ADP, The register Claims is not worse, but so far no one has reported to lose data.
