The first trailer of the Thursday Murder Club is released as Helen Mirren, 79, and Pierce Brosnan, 71, transform into amateur-speuzen into very stars-stained adaptation of the novel by Richard Osman

The first trailer of the Thursday Murder Club has been officially released and offers fans their first glimpse Netflix‘s with stars littered adjustment of Richard Osman“Sroman.

The streaming giant recently revealed that the film will launch exclusively on the platform on Thursday 28 August.

Richard said: ‘I can now officially announce three of the four members of the Thursday murder club.

“Elizabeth is played by the person who usually shouts people at me on the street, because they want them to play Elizabeth … Helen Mirren, which is very exciting.”

The Thursday murder club follows a group of pensioners in a pension village from the middle class, who solves the murder of a real estate developer.

Richard wrote the book in secret for more than 18 months and it was soon in the center of a 10-way bidding war, before Penguin Random House bought the rights for a sum of seven figures in 2019.

During the publication in 2020, the Thursday murder club was sold the only book that had sold more than a million copies in the same year as the release and the two-selling novel after Dan Brown’s the Lost Symbol and JK Rowling’s Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.

It was followed by three sequel, the man who died twice in 2021, the bullet who died in 2022 and the last devil in 2023, with a fifth planned to be published next year.

The novels have become a runaway success story and sell more than 10 million copies worldwide.

The film rights on the book were quickly arrested by the legendary director Steven Spielberg with his production company Amblin Entertainment that beat the competition of 13 other studios.

Originally the film would be written and directed Ol Parker, with shooting that started in March, with Meryl Streep and Viola Davis reportedly on the lead role.

The Thursday murder club will be released on Netflix on 28 August.
