The basis is in Biloxi on the Gulf Coast, about 168 miles southeast of Jackson, the capital of the state.

There are approximately 5,100 military active service, 1,625 civil servants, 13,000 pensioners, 4,763 family members and 2,700 contractors on Keesler Fig, according to the base.
