An almost -record spell of ten days without Sunshine has threatened to touch the UK – with a new card that influences the areas the worst.
The cold and miserable prediction in the past two weeks, usually seen in eastern areas of the UK, is caused by freezing of air in Scandinavia and Central Europe that leads to a sweeping of cold wind.
Snow is expected to hit a few areas on Monday after a number of locations on Sunday have seen winter spells, also in Scotland.
Meteorologist Tom Morgan of the office said that certain areas could go for 10 days without any sunshine – an 'almost -record' for the UK.
“In principle, we took this battlefield between cold air in Scandinavia and Central Europe in this weekend that eastern parts of the UK affect, but to the West is a bit milder,” he said.
“The Atlantic Ocean tries to shift that cold air from west to east in the United Kingdom, but it is a very slow process and it will take to the middle of the coming week before the circumstances become much milder rural.”
The record for most days without sunshine in London was 13 days in 1959.
However, British can look forward to warmer times ahead, because the temperature in some areas can rise to 14 ° C in the middle of the week.
