Adam Carolla admitted he accidentally called Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba “ab****.”

The podcaster, 59, opened up about the blunder on Cheryl Burke's podcast Sex, lies and spray tans Sunday.

The Los Angeles native joined the ABC show in the spring of 2008, along with professional partner Julianne Hough.

The broadcast veteran ultimately finished in 9th place, while figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi came out on top that season.

Carolla said the verbal blunder – which fans picked up on – came out during a live broadcast of an episode when he was given a paltry score out of five by Inaba, as he quietly said: 'Oh, b****.'

Burke, 39, asked Carolla: “Okay, did you call Carrie Ann ab****?” to which Carolla replied, “I did it and I forgot I did it.”

Carolla said the show's producers told him about the slip of the tongue, which he initially denied.

“I was like, 'I didn't say it,' and they were like, 'Yes, you said it.' And I was like, 'Yes, I did that?'” he said.

Burke asked Carolla if the statement was a response to the low score.

He replied: 'No, I called her ab**** and I have no memory of it, which is weird.'

Carolla said he had “no issues” with Inaba, who he said performed her duties as a dance judge properly in her assessment of his performance.

“I knew what the track was, they knew what the track was – I get it,” he said.

Other celebrities appearing on Carolla's season on the show included the late Lisa Marie Presley, comedian Penn Jillette, tennis player Monica Seles, Broadway star Marissa Jaret Winokur, Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin and actor Cristián de la Fuente, with whom Burke was paired with during her time as a dancer.

Carolla said he had

Carolla said he had “no issues” with Inaba, who he said performed her duties as a dance judge properly in her assessment of his performance.

Carolla told Burke about an awkward conversation with Winokur as he tried to relax her during filming, as she was “a bundle of nerves.”

“I walked over and there was Penn Jillette,” Carolla said. 'He tried to help too. I say, 'Look, you're not going to have any fun there. But you know what you're going to have, you're going to have an experience. You're going to have an experience that you can't trade for anything. It's such a crazy experience.'”

Carolla said he told Winokur it was an experience “you couldn't buy” and was similar to childbirth.

'I said, 'You know, giving birth, having a child, is that fun? No. Wouldn't you miss it for anything in the world? It's experience and that's what this is. This is childbirth, the most important experience that you will ever have.” Carolla said.

Carolla said Winokur told him in response, “I just had ovarian cancer and I can't have children,” to which he said, “Ah, what?”
