Adam Driver Says ‘F–k You’ To Fan Who Disapproved of ‘Ferrari’ Crash Scene

Adam Driver shares how he really feels about a fan calling out a scene in his upcoming film Ferrari.

“What are you thinking about [the] crash scenes? They looked quite harsh, drastic and, I must say, cheesy to me,” says An the audience member asked during a question-and-answer session on Sunday, November 12 during the film’s screening at the Polish Camerimage Film Festival. “What do you think?”

Driver, 39, quickly shut down the criticism: “F–k, I don’t know? Next question.”

He accepted the Special EnergaCamerimage Award for an Actor at the film festival and introduced Ferrari as an entry for the Camerimage Main Competition, according to Variety.

Driver plays Italian sports entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari in the biographical drama, which also stars Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley And Patrick Dempsey. Jack O’Connell, Sarah Gadon And Gabriel Leone round off Ferrari form.

Set in 1957, the film follows Ferrari as he enters his racing team in the iconic Mille Miglia. During the 1,000-mile race through Italy, driver Alfonso de Portago blew a tire on his Ferrari sports car and crashed into the crowd.

As a result, nine people died. Both Ferrari and the tire manufacturer were charged with manslaughter, but the case was dropped.

A trailer for the highly anticipated film was released in August, featuring a few words from Driver before the screen went black: “When you get in one of my cars, you get in to win.”

Although Driver appears to be driving cars in the film, he revealed that he wasn’t actually allowed to drive cars on set.

“They wouldn’t let me drive the cars for insurance reasons,” Driver said at the 80th annual Venice Film Festival in August. “Like I said before, making a movie is a miracle and they don’t want me to touch the thing that is the most expensive part of the world. [set].”

Driver confessed that there was a dolly behind the wheel in the beginning of the film. “Again, they don’t trust me with small appliances,” he joked. ‘I’ll have large appliances, such as sandwiches, done.’

The film is directed by Michael Mann, who previously directed films such as Heat and Miami Vice. Mann, 80, had wanted to make a film about Ferrari for years and was an advisor for Ford vs. Ferrari.

Ferrari will hit theaters on December 25.
