Adele has spoken out in support of Taylor Swift after the pop star received hate from NFL fans for attending football games to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Adele, 35, told those criticizing Taylor, 34, to “enjoy life” and stated that the singer made the games “more fun to watch.”

Taylor has been dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis, 34, since September last year and quickly became a pop culture phenomenon.

Since attending her first Chiefs game in September, she has been on the field for 12 of the Chiefs' 18 games this season, garnering massive media attention.

The 'Taylor Swift' effect has reportedly generated £260 million for the NFL since she started dating Travis, with female viewership increasing by 9 per cent, giving the league its best ever figures among women.

Travis is now competing for his third Super Bowl championship as his Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

During her final show during her Las Vegas residency on Saturday night, Adele discussed the upcoming game with the crowd.

She admitted that she had initially hoped the 49ers would win, but switched to supporting the Chiefs because of Taylor.

The Easy On Me hitmaker said, “I want the 49ers to win, but I also want the Chiefs to win. I think I want the Chiefs to win just because Taylor Swift is going for them….”

As the crowd erupted in cheers, Adele passionately declared, “And all of you complaining about Taylor Swift being at the Games, get to work! It's her damn husband!'

She added, “She actually made it a little more fun to watch because like I said, I have no idea what's going on.”

Fans praised the singer for her support of her fellow artist, posting on social media: “That's why we love Adele, I always knew she was a mother,” while another added: “Protect Adele at all costs.'

Several others enthusiastically declared: 'Queen support queen' and many excitedly demanded the pair make music together, saying 'now we want a collab'.

This isn't the first time Adele has spoken out in support of Taylor, previously calling her “one of the greatest songwriters of our generation.”

The English singer-songwriter talked about Taylor's talents in October 2022 during Happy Hour With Adele, a fan event celebrating the release of her music video for I Drink Wine.

When asked if she had listened to Taylor's latest album Midnights, Adele admitted she hadn't because she was rehearsing for 12 hours every day.

But she went on to praise the American singer as “one of the greatest songwriters of our generation” as she showed her support for Taylor's record-breaking songs.

Adele admitted she hadn't listened to Taylor's tenth studio album yet, saying: “I haven't, but the only reason is because I've been rehearsing for about 12 hours a day.” I'm tired of everything musically.

“But I think Taylor is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation, so I'll definitely listen to it. I loved the two very much in Covid, and I think she's fun, she makes a release fun!'

It comes after Taylor landed in Los Angeles on her private jet on Saturday after an eight-hour flight from Tokyo in time to support Travis at the Super Bowl.

She wrapped up the last of her four shows in Japan for her Eras Tour on Saturday before flying back to the US and making a quick getaway to her home in Southern California.

From there, she is expected to travel to Las Vegas in time to support Travis and the Chiefs on Sunday night.
