Afcon 2023 semi-final: Nigeria takes on South Africa before Ivory Coast vs DR Congo

A very good evening and welcome to the first semi-final of the African Cup of Nations tonight between Nigeria and South Africa.

Nigeria secured passage to this stage with a 1-0 win over Angola in the quarter-final.

Former Everton and Fulham winger Ademola Lookman with the only goal of the match in the first half.

That was them third 1-0 league win.

South Africa's quarter-final was an even more exciting affair, with confidence that a penalty shoot-out would prevail outside Cape Verde.

Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was the hero during the nightly save FOUR penalties in that shoot-out.
