Balasore: India on Thursday successfully carried out the training launch of the short-range Agni-1 missile from APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha, a defense official said. “Agni-1 is a proven missile system with very high precision. The launch of the user training, conducted under the auspices of the Strategic Forces Command, successfully validated all operational and technical parameters,” the official said.

The missile was successfully tested last time on June 1 from the same base. The Agni range of missiles is the mainstay of India’s nuclear delivery capabilities.
