Air India pilots: The pilots of an Air India international flight en route to Delhi from London left it midway, the reason they stated: “Our service time is over”. This caused much inconvenience to the passengers as the plane was parked at Jaipur airport for more than six hours. Later the passengers were sent to Delhi by road.

Three international and two domestic flights were diverted to Jaipur on Sunday due to bad weather in Delhi. These include two flights from Air India, two from SpiceJet and one from Gulf Stream.

FLIGHTS PERFORMED

Air India flight AI-112 was supposed to reach Delhi from London at 6am. However, due to bad weather, it was diverted to Jaipur. The second Air India flight to be diverted was en route from Delhi to Dubai. The Gulf Stream flight was from Delhi to Bahrain, while a Spice Jet flight was en route to Delhi from Pune, while the other was from Guwahati.

TWEETS TO AVIATION MINISTER GIVE NO RESULT

Adit, a British-Indian passenger on board the flight, said the passengers became upset but Air India made no arrangements to send them to Delhi. He even tweeted Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jaipur MP (R) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

He tweeted: “Adit @AbritishIndian Passengers of @airindia AI112 flying from London to Delhi have been diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather but passengers have not been assisted to reach their final destination. @JM_Scindia please help us urgently. We managed to talk to @Ra_THORe despite not getting any help from the authorities at #JaipurAirport.”

“Please stop with the false promises! The staff of the #JaipurAirport has been absolutely incapable and incorrigible in helping us. The solution they have provided for all passengers to travel to Delhi by bus is absolutely darn and ridiculous. Please coordinate and fly us to Delhi as soon as possible”.

After a harrowing wait of more than six hours, Air India sent some passengers to Delhi by Volvo bus and some by taxi.

The flight diversion left more than 150 passengers on board suffering in Jaipur and angry passengers caused a commotion at the airport.
