Aldi Australia customer left gagging at ‘disgusting’ find inside sauce bottle when making dinner

A customer at Aldi Australia immediately lost her appetite after a giant chunk of mold fell from a sauce bottle as she was preparing dinner.

On Monday, June 3, Sidney Bessant was making a Thai green curry and had bought the ingredients at the budget store earlier that day.

But when the store didn’t have the usual curry paste, she opted for another product she had never bought before.

The 22-year-old from Sydney felt like she was going to throw up when the stomach-churning blob of green mold fell into the frying pan.

‘I’ve never felt so sick! It was so disgusting,” she told FEMAIL.

‘I often shop at Aldi and so does my whole family, but I’ve never had a problem like this before.’

In the middle of the ordeal, Sidney started recording a TikTok video in which she describes the situation in detail to vent her shock and disgust.

She chose the quick and easy meal with chicken, coconut cream, broccoli and green beans.

“Something looked a little weird about the sauce. I poured it into my dinner and this big piece of mold fell out,” she said, gagging.

‘[It] actually looks like what my dog vomited up. It’s all over the lid, it’s all over the edge, it looks like it’s filled with mold.

Sidney also shared a close-up of the bottle to reveal that the expiration date is actually July 27, 2025, meaning there shouldn’t have been any mold on the bottle.

‘Don’t worry, I’m not going to eat tonight. I have never felt so sick in my life,” she stated.

Sidney said she lost her appetite and didn't eat the meal after seeing the mold. 'I've never felt so sick! It was so disgusting,” she told FEMAIL.

Another person in the comments said it looked “completely gross.”

‘Um, did you tell Aldi about this? They should know,” said another.

Customers are encouraged to provide feedback to Aldi directly through the help center to investigate any issues or allegations.
