“Just press and hold the Home button,” advises Amazon Fire TV Stick user

a COMMON Amazon Fire TV Stick issue has been discussed on a popular Reddit forum.

It involves screen mirroring content from another device to your Fire TV Stick device from Fire TV, but there are several issues.

The trick was posted on a Reddit forum called r/fireTV.

One forum user wrote: “I was wondering if there was screen mirroring on the Fire TV.

“Even direct WiFi doesn't seem to work on the TV, and I know there are apps you can download, but the one I downloaded was very slow and I think it showed 480p.

“Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should do or what app I should use?”

This question received mixed responses in the Reddit thread.

Some users didn't seem to think screen casting was possible because the person asking the question was using an Amazon Fire TV and not an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

One person said: “Press and hold the home key for 3 seconds or until the menu appears.

“Select screen mirroring. Use Miracast on your phone. Done.”

The questioner replied: “I'm using a Fire TV, screen mirroring is not an option when I hold the home button.”

Whether you can use screen mirroring depends on what devices you use.

The steps may differ depending on whether you have an Android or iPhone.

It's much easier to do with Android phones because you don't need a third-party app.

Click the Home button on your Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Then press Mirroring and then click Enter.

At the same time, take your Android device and locate the Connected Devices section in your Settings menu.

The steps to get there may differ depending on which Android device you have.

Select to connect and then click Cast.

says Amazon iOS and MacOS do not technically support Fire TV screen mirroring.

According to the Kim Komando website, you can download an app called AirScreen that will allow you to screen from an Apple device.
