Amber Davies recalls her ‘out of body experience’ where her drink was spiked and then rushed to hospital.

The Welsh actress, 27, shot to fame in 2017 when she won the third series of Love Island with her ex Kem Cetinay, 27.

But just a year later, Amber fell victim to a horrific drinking spree during a night out at the pub with friends in North Wales.

The reality TV personality turned stage star is now running a major awareness campaign with Malibu, using her own experience as a platform to help others.

Recalling the traumatic ordeal, Amber told MailOnline: ‘I got excited – god, I think it’s been about five or six years now.

“To be honest, I couldn’t tell you exactly what happened because it was a blur to me personally.

What to do if your drink is spiked – use the abbreviation BABES

buddy Up – Stay with your friend

aLet the staff know – Speak to the bar or door staff for assistance

be Talkative – Keep your friend talking

Eemergency call – Call 999

“It was an out-of-body experience.”

Amber said she was lucky as her cousin happened to be in the pub opposite and the emergency services were called straight away.

It was reported at the time that she was seen ‘stumbling and screaming in a car park’ before collapsing outside the Plow Inn.

She continued: “I was with all my friends and it was a fun night, but things went wrong – but that’s how it happens!

“What they did was call 911 straight away, and that’s the best they could do.

‘At that point I don’t think anyone knew what was going on. We didn’t know if I had reacted badly to food, we didn’t know what was going on.’

After visiting her nearest 24-hour GP, Amber was told to sleep off the symptoms, adding that the biggest impact was on her family.

“It was just so scary,” she admitted. “Although I honestly can’t remember half of it.”

The Welsh beauty currently stars as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman and will also appear in Dancing On Ice next year, having previously starred in 9 To 5 and Back To The Future.

But she makes time in her busy schedule to raise awareness of drinking spikes, using an acronym of BABES to help others know what to do when a spike occurs – while Amber and her friends initially didn’t know where to turn could.

Amber added: “It’s such an important message to get out, but not in a scary way.

‘From my perspective, I have so many young female followers that I think it is a very important message.

‘For example, my little nephew is going to university next year and it is very important that people know that.

‘Everyone knows what to do if there is a fire: you go to a safe place. So it is also good to know for this situation.’

“If I had received this message years ago, the situation might have been different.”

And putting on a brave face she said: ‘There is no scarier experience than going to Love Island, I can tell you that for free!

‘It was just an awkward situation and I learned a lot from it. In any case, it was a great learning experience and also educational.’

Amber is in a relationship with her Back To The Future co-star Ben Joyce, after splitting from Nick Kyriacou.

She confirmed the relationship with Lorraine earlier this year and affectionately admitted: ‘I accidentally fell in love with my co-star.’
