And they’re off! Delta Goodrem is not so mellow in yellow as she leads the celebrity Melbourne Cup arrivals at Flemington Racecourse to watch the race that stops the nation

The Melbourne Cup kicked off on Tuesday as Australia’s most stylish celebrities gathered at Flemington Racecourse to watch the race that stops the nation.

And leading the glamorous arrivals was pop princess Delta Goodrem, who was a vision in yellow at the Birdcage. 

Putting on a very busty display, the Born To Try hitmaker sported a plunging yellow frock and matching fascinator, paired with a yellow top-handle bag and gold earrings. 

Her look was completed with a pair of gold strappy pumps and several diamond rings.

Delta was all smiles as she waved at onlookers, revealing a glimpse at her huge diamond ring from fiancé Matthew Copley.

Racing identity Kate Waterhouse also dazzled at the Birdcage in an off-white Mariam Seddiq dress that featured oversized scalloping details and a plunging neckline. 

Kate, who is the daughter of horse trainer Gai Waterhouse and bookmaker Robbie Waterhouse, completed her look with a white hatinator, yellow strappy heels, silver hoop earrings and a Bulgari handbag. 

Channel Seven Sport presenter Emma Freedman meanwhile turned heads in an all-red ensemble.

The blonde sported a stylish swing dress with a see-through lace bodice, a jaunty hatinator and a pair of strappy heels. 

Red was the colour du jour on Tuesday, with Real Housewives of Sydney star Terry Biviano also sporting a scarlet-hued halterneck frock, along with a matching Dior handbag, pointy-toed pumps and hatinator.

The wife of AFL star Anthony Minichiello beamed as she tossed the dramatic train of her frock for photos.  

Also wearing red was Terry’s fellow AFL WAG Jessie Murphy, who wore a satin, ruby-coloured lantern dress that featured buttons down the front. 

Actor Rob Mills’ grey suit and floral tie combo meanwhile put him in the running for best-dressed male racegoer.

Lady Eliza and Amelia Spencer, Princess Diana’s nieces, proved two is better than one as they arrived wearing dramatic frocks made from the same red satin fabric. 

Eliza courted attention in an off-the-shoulder ballgown and a bejewelled birdcage veil, while her sister showed off her legs in a puff skirt mini-dress and beaded headband. 

Former Miss Universe Olivia Molly Rogers dressed to be noticed in a satin tangerine mini dress embellished with large rosettes. 

The model completed her look with a matching handbag, headband-style fascinator and pointy-toed navy heels. 

Taking a style risk was former MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong, who sported a fit and flare frock emblazoned with a striped print in black, white and light pink. 

Model Adut Akech meaning proved she’s on top of her style game as she arrived in a beaded tulle mini dress with draped detailing. 

Elsewhere, stylist Lana Wilkinson looked festive in a pink column dress with a dramatic, puffy peplum. 

She wore her hair half up, secured with a black velvet bow, and topped off her look with a black patent leather clutch and black open-toed pumps. 

Neighbours star Olympia Valance meanwhile made a glamorous appearance in a plum-coloured satin corset dress and matching hatinator. 

At times, she posed arm-in-arm with her AFL star husband Tom Bellchambers, who wore a suit and printed tie. 

Love Island Australia winner Tayla Damir and her footy star husband Nathan Broad also looked shmick as they arrived arm-in-arm at the Birdcage.

Tayla, who recently welcomed her first child, looked glamorous in a blue satin mini dress with floral detailing and a halter-neckline, matched with a blue birdcage veil fascinator. 

Her sportsman husband also dressed to impress in a checked navy three-piece suit and printed tie.

Model Demi Brereton, who is the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival Ambassador, also oozed elegance in a red-and-black look, which included a scarlet, off-the-shoulder corset dress and matching hatinator. 

She also wore a black scarf, pointy-toed punks and top-handle bag, as well as a pair of dainty drop earrings. 

The Matildas star Cortnee Vine meanwhile made a fashion statement as she posed for photos in an oversized pink pantsuit, fuchsia bandanna and red hatinator. 

Jockey Zac Purton was also spotted arriving with his wife Nicole at Flemington Racecourse looking suave in a black suit.

Meanwhile, Nicole was red hot in a crimson mini dress and matching fascinator. 

Australian model Francesca Hung put on a show-stopping display in a daring red two-piece suit with a matching wide-brimmed hat.

The Miss Universe Australia 2018 winner looked incredible after celebrating her hens night in Sydney on Saturday.

Francesca paired her look with a silver handbag, a pearl necklace and bright red patent heels.

Meanwhile, the brunette had her hair styled in a fresh blowout and her makeup looked elegant with a red lip and thick black eyeliner. 

AFL WAG Brit Selwood posed up a storm inside the Birdcage as she stepped out in a short silver frock.

The wife of Geelong Cats great Joel Selwood looked chic in a handmade dress by And Bear, which featured stunning gold detailing at the neckline.

Britt, who welcomed son Joey with Joel in March this year, completed her fit with a headband that matched her dress, as well as gold bracelets and a white Dior handbag.

As for Joel, the sports star looked dapper in a navy suit and bow tie. 

Elsewhere, Channel Seven presenter Rebecca Maddern made a fashion statement in an eye-catching striped dress in orange, yellow and blue. 

She topped off her look with a black harness-style belt and a large black hatinator. 

Model Amy Pejkovic and her AFL superstar beau David Zaharakis proved that couples who dress together really do stay together, as they posed in matching pink ensembles. 

Former high jumper Amy looked festive in a ruffled pink midi dress and headband fascinator, while David was stylish in a suit and tie. 

Fashion guru Donny Galella, who styled many of the celebrities attending the Melbourne Cup, also had his own red carpet moment as he arrived at the Birdcage in a printed blazer and brown trousers. 

The Challenge host Brihony Dawson also arrived in style, donning a gold velvet suit jacket, black trousers, a button-down shirt and a black bowtie.
